POV: Taylor

Los Angeles, 12:01 am

July 9th...

You stood outside in the cold rain waiting for me to step off of this stupid plane. It was right in front of you but I had yet to step off of it. Maybe you thought I was collecting my bags or cleaning something up, but I was actually collecting myself for what was to come once I ran out of this aircraft.

After several deep breaths, there I was, sprinting off of the plane. With one step in front of the other, I bolted down those jet stairs into your arms. "I missed you so much Y/n." I squeezed you tight. I could feel every beat of your wild heart through your shirt.

"Gosh you must be freezing, you're shivering, it's raining, your heart is racing-" You rudely cut me off pressing your lips to mine. My body loosened in your grasp, I melted in that freezing rain.

When you pulled away you smiled at me with that stupid grin that I love so much. "Save the talking for when we're warm in bed yeah? I want to hear it all but you're right I am freezing. I don't need you nor I to catch a cold, we've got a party to be at." You said.

"No you're right, let's go," I said finally realizing just how cold it was. You opened the car door for me and before closing it you reached down and pressed a kiss to my cheek. "I missed you more by the way."

We returned to your apartment and after I washed up we were in bed just before 2 am. You were lying in bed on your phone looking through your emails. You had been trying to strike a job on Broadway. You really wanted to play Elphaba in Wicked. It's what you'd been working at for so long. I really wanted this for you.

I stood in your clothes leaned up against the bathroom door frame watching you. You seemed anxious about something. Something seemed different. I couldn't put my finger on it but it felt wrong.

You peeked up from your phone catching a glimpse of me in the moonlight. Something in your eyes changed when you saw me. Maybe it was a gloss that coated your eyes that I missed. The tears that I should have known were there but were too ignorant to see.

You put your phone on the nightstand and lightly said, "Come here." I walked over to you with your arms wide open. I climbed on top of you and laid my head against your chest. You kissed my head several times and let out a big sigh.

"My heart." You whispered. I hummed questioning you. "It was beating so fast back there because of you." Your slim fingers ran through my damp, curly, blonde hair.

My eyes were slowly closing but before they shut, I caught a shot of the digital clock on your side of the bed, it read '1:58' and you whispered, "I love you, Taylor. I'll love you in this lifetime, I'll love you in my next, and every single one after. Don't you worry my pretty girl." That was the last thing I heard that night of July 9th...

Selena's party was huge. The biggest one she's ever thrown. You were on the floor dancing, you loved to dance. Which was one of the things that brought you to Broadway. Your first gig was as a background dancer in Hamilton.

I for one, am not a dancer by any means. So I watched you show off your dancing like you always did. It was what you were most proud of. I rolled my eyes at you with a smile. I loved when you showed off like that, to be honest. I knew you loved it so I loved it.
