The core four. Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay.  What about the story of the core five? Never heard it? Dr Facilier and his two daughters Celia and Y/N had lived on he isle along with Mal, Maleficent, Hades, Jay, Jafar, Cruella De Ville, Carlos, Evie, and the evil queen. Young Mal and Young Y/N were the two in the group that held it together and one day the two had fallen in love. A forbidden love. One that was never supposed to happen. The girls were head over heels until one fateful moment when Maleficent got a letter telling her her daughter and her three friends were chosen to move to Auradon. Y/N ran to the arcade to see her father and hades having a conversation. "Dad dad! Did I get a letter from prince ben too?!" You asked excitedly. He shook his head no. "What are you talking about? What letter? Why would we get letters?" You looked back from your other to hades than down to your feet. "Mal, Jay, Carlos and Evie got one. I-I just thought id get one too." Hades knelt down to your height as you were on the shorter side for only sixteen and well he was a god so he was pretty mighty. "Why dont you come and help me out? You dont need those rotten no goods anyways because we're stinking evil." You smirked and nodded. From that day forward you AND your sister had worked with Hades and for hades. He trusted you both. 

One day you heard news from your new best friend and companion, Uma, that your ex girlfriend had come back into town. After you found out she dumped you without saying and started dating that twerp ben, you were out for revenge. You and Uma had a plan. She kidnap the king and you get your girl back. After many failed attempts at trying to get Mal back she had left just as fast as she came. "Mal you cant leave me again! Not like this!" "I have to Y/N for you and for me! Its better this way!" She yelled "No its not Mal! It hurts! It Frickin HURTS!" You screamed. She cried and ran off to her king and drove back to auradon. That place haunted you. You never wanted to step foot on that lad for as long as you lived. And what hurt worse was the year following you were finally in a better place, or in this case. A meaner place. Your sister had been called to the isle, which meant another visit for Mal. Hugging your sister goodbye was hard but you knew she would be back. "Nows your chance." You whispered to hades walking away, taking one last look at Mal. She looked older but so had you. You two have grown. For the better. But one thing was still the same. You couldn't stop loving her.

Your little sister Celia had come back to the isle and told you about the adventures she had with Mal. She told you how she was happily engaged to King Ben. You were devastated and vowed never to leave the isle, no matter how much you wanted to or how much your best friend, and sister begged you. You were an Isle girl. Auradon wasn't meant for you.

"Come on Uma, pay up." You said holding out your hand. You just read her tarot and you expected her to pay. "Do I have to?" You scoffed. "You were at Auradon for a day and you've gone soft on me already? Pathetic. Now pay up." This time It was her turn to scoff. She sat up and said, "Its not that bad, its really cool. Its bright and man is cake delicious!" She gushed making you GAG. "Sounds amazing, I wouldn't like it. I know Mal and I know she's going to take down that barrier, and once she does ill have my powers back and I can have this dreaded island to myself like I've planned since she left and ill have some rotten fun." Uma shook her head. "Im telling you, you should come." You shook your head, "It'll-" "Hurt too much, I get it. You gotta get over her y/n." You rolled your eyes. "You've never been in love so you wouldn't know what its like." She leaned back in her seat and said, "You two are the only people who have ever fallen in love on this island." You nodded. "And we'll be the last." "You guys! The Barrier! Its broken!" Celia came over to you running with Harry and Gill trialing behind her. "I called it didnt I?" You asked rhetorically. You slowly and casually made your way to the tunnel and saw that the barrier was down, fully down. So you tried some of your magic and "By god it works!" You cheered. All the isle rodents ran across the bridge while you stayed put. "Are you coming?" Harry asked. "Maybe." You shrugged. Even from afar you could spot that purple head of hair. You were the first person to dye her hair. You two were six and she didn't like the blonde that she had so you stole some dye and changed the color.

"You didnt leave?" Hades asked popping up beside you. "Nah. You going?" you asked. "Only if you follow suit." He said. You contemplated for a minute. Maybe you could congratulate the couple than come back to your humble abode. I mean if you were going to be all alone, minus the couple of people who stayed, it sounded like paradise. "Yeah ill tag on. You first." He walked on quickly as you took a second and walked quite slowly.

Reaching the near end of the bridge you looked around. Uma was right. It was much brighter, much more color. It was... happier. Definitely not the place for you. "Mal." You heard hades whisper as he nudged his head towards you. You were leant up against the archway, gazing at all the colors and what where those? Flowers? "Hey." Mal said approaching you with her loyal dog Ben following behind. "Mal." You greeted. "Oh congratulations on the engagement real nice surprise for me to hear about it two hours ago." Ben held his hand out. "King Ben, you are?" You looked at his hand but didn't shake it. "Y/N Facilier." You left out the Mals ex part. Didn't want to make the precious Queen uncomfortable. Didn't want to out her either. "Nice to meet you, uh how do you know Mal?" He asked being nosy. "Long story." "Ben hun." Mal nudged her head silently telling him to get lost. He took the hint and left. "Celia tells me you miss me? I thought big bad y/n didnt have a heart?" She teased. "And I thought big bad Mal would come back with a wand three years ago, but here we are. You engaged in all." She frowned at you. "Come on, its been three years, you saw me not long ago you know when you helped Uma kidnapp ben?" You nodded slowly. "Yeah and I intended on getting you back but you never gave me the light of day so I took it from there that we were over." She sighed stepping closer to you. "We're still friends right?" It took you a second but you nodded, "Yeah I assume so." She smiled and grabbed your hand, "Well follow me then, Jay, Carlos, and Evie will be super happy to see you again an- And your not following me, why are you not following me?" "Mal stop." You blurted out taking her off guard. "I cant go in there. I cant go to auradon." "W-why? I want you to come with me." She said softly yet worried. "It'll hurt too much to see you with him when I am constantly thinking about you. I cant walk in there without thinking that its the place that ruined us. Im an isle girl. You know that." You placed your hand softly on her cheek caressing your thumb over her cheekbone. "No. Stay with me. We can start over, you'd love ben. He's amazing." She said fighting back tears. "Im sure id love him, but I love you more. Its best for me to stay on the isle. Best for me, best for you and your relationship. You know me Mal. You know I would tear up auradon." You kissed her forehead slowly. "I love you. Ill always love you Mal." You whispered walking away leaving her there stunned and sad. "Please dont go." She whispered. "If you really miss me you'll come visit, right?" She nodded wiping the tear she let fall. You softly smiled at her, which was rare and reserved for only her. You slowly walked across the bridge, not looking back. The isle is where you belong. Because your rotten. To the core.
