I grabbed a sword and shield. Michael did the same.
"Now let's get this over with." I said grimly.
We ran out into the street and immediately saw the enemy coming towards us.
I took the first swing and immediately killed the Orc. I hesitated for a second, astonished that I'd killed something, but I shook off the feeling and battered on.
Michael and I were doing well with the other men next to us when we heard a terrible sound.
I looked up in dread.
It was a troll.
10 feet tall, it's skin like armor, and armed with an ugly-looking sword.
I took one look, and fled.
I had been running for about ten seconds, jumping over bodies in the street as it began to pour rain, when I realized that Michael wasn't with me. He hadn't noticed the troll and was fighting an Orc close by the troll.
The troll turned and looked at me.
It LOOKED at me and followed my anxious gaze toward Michael.
