"Oh no." I whispered.
The troll turned and lumbered toward Michael, who was fighting bravely with his back to the troll.
Michael had always had a little trouble hearing things when there are loud sounds around him, so it was easy for him to not hear the troll's thundering steps.
He turned in time to receive a blow to the chest with the troll's fist. His sword and shield clattered to the ground and looked up, completely helpless.
I screamed and tried to run to him but my way was blocked by men fighting Orcs. I could only watch as the troll sauntered up to my husband.
"No, no, no, no...." I whispered again and again, praying that this wasn't real, hoping that if I kept speaking, I'd wake up with Michael next to me, laughing and tickling me awake.
But that wasn't going to happen.
The troll looked at me again, and plunged his sword into Michael's belly.
