~ Time skip ~

Y/n chuckled at her little brother's innocence, trying to come up with an answer. Jungwon, however, spoke up before she could say anything.

"It's because we're friends," Jungwon said with a small smile.

Jaehyun looked up at Jungwon, thinking for a moment before nodding his head. "Okay, can I hold your hand too?" he asked innocently.

Jungwon chuckled and reached out his free hand to hold Jaehyun's small hand. Y/n smiled at the sight, feeling her heart warm at the bond forming between her brother and Jungwon.

"Of course, buddy," Jungwon replied.

Y/n felt a sense of contentment, knowing that Jungwon was slowly opening up to her and her family. They arrived home soon after and settled down in the living room. Jaehyun grabbed his toys and started playing while Y/n and Jungwon sat on the couch together, talking and laughing.

As the night went on, Y/n couldn't help but feel a deepening connection to Jungwon. She felt grateful to have him in her life and hoped that their friendship would continue to grow.

~ At the house ~

Y/n's mom greeted them with a warm smile and said, "Hi, everyone! I hope you guys are hungry. Dinner is ready!"

Y/n, Jungwon, and Jaehyun followed her into the kitchen, where a delicious aroma filled the air. The table was set with their favorite dishes, and Y/n's mom had gone all out to make it a special dinner.

As they sat down to eat, Y/n's mom asked Jungwon about his life at the orphanage and his dreams for the future. Jungwon, who was usually quiet, spoke passionately about his love for music and how he hoped to become a singer one day.

Y/n's mom listened intently, nodding her head and offering words of encouragement. Y/n felt grateful for her understanding and support, knowing that not everyone was as accepting of Jungwon's situation.

As they finished their meal, Y/n's mom suggested they watch a movie together. They all agreed, and Y/n picked out a feel-good movie that she knew would cheer Jungwon up.

As they settled on the couch, Y/n snuggled up next to Jungwon, who wrapped his arm around her. Jaehyun climbed onto their laps, and they all watched the movie together, laughing and enjoying each other's company.

Y/n felt happy and content, surrounded by the people she loved. She glanced over at Jungwon, who smiled back at her, and she knew that this was only the beginning of their journey together.

~ 2 months later ~

As the months passed, Y/n and Jungwon's friendship grew stronger. They spent a lot of time together, studying, hanging out, and just talking. Y/n loved spending time with Jungwon, and she always felt happy whenever he was around. But despite their closeness, Jungwon still kept his distance.

One day, while they were walking home from school, Y/n decided to ask Jungwon about it.

"Jungwon, can I ask you something?" Y/n said nervously.

"Yeah, sure. What is it?" Jungwon replied, looking at her.

"Well, I've noticed that you still wear your hoodies and masks at school. I'm just wondering why you do that," Y/n said, trying to be as gentle as possible.

Jungwon looked down at his feet for a moment before answering. "I don't know. I guess it's just a habit. I feel more comfortable that way."

"But you don't wear them when we're outside of school. You don't wear them when we're at my house or when we go out to get ice cream," Y/n pointed out.

Jungwon was silent for a moment before speaking. "That's because I feel safe around you. I trust you, Y/n."

Y/n felt her heart skip a beat at Jungwon's words. She looked up at him, and their eyes met. For a moment, they just stared at each other, lost in their own thoughts.

Suddenly, Y/n's phone rang, interrupting the moment. She quickly answered it, trying to compose herself.

It was her mom, asking her to come home early. Y/n sighed and looked at Jungwon. "I have to go. My mom needs me at home."

Jungwon nodded. "Okay, I'll see you tomorrow."

As Y/n walked away, she couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. She wanted to talk more with Jungwon to figure out what was going on with him. But she knew that they had all the time in the world, and she was determined to help Jungwon in any way she could.

~ With Jungwon ~

Kyujin and Eunchae noticed the tension in Jungwon's body language, so they asked him if everything was okay. Jungwon hesitated for a moment, then took off his hood and mask, revealing his face to his friends for the first time. They were both surprised to see how handsome he was.

After a moment of silence, Kyujin broke the ice and said, "Wow, Jungwon, you look so different without your mask and hoodie. You should show your face to everyone!"

Jungwon shook his head and replied, "I can't. I'm used to wearing them, and it feels weird to show my face to people."

Eunchae spoke up, "But Y/n has seen your face, and she didn't judge you. She's your friend and accepts you for who you are."

Jungwon thought about it for a moment and nodded, "You're right. Y/n is different. She's not like other people. She's special."

Kyujin and Eunchae smiled, happy to see that Jungwon was starting to open up to them. They walked with him to the orphanage, and Jungwon felt grateful to have such supportive friends.

Jungwon sighed as he closed the door to his room. He was tired and the events of the day had left him feeling a little uneasy. He sat on his bed and leaned back against the wall, his mind wandering.

He couldn't help but think about Y/n. She had been his closest friend since they met, and he enjoyed spending time with her. But lately, he found himself thinking about her more often. He didn't know why, but he was drawn to her in a way he couldn't explain.

Jungwon shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts. He didn't want to complicate things. Y/n was just a friend, and he didn't want to ruin their relationship by developing feelings for her.

He stood up from his bed and walked over to the window, looking out at the darkening sky. He wondered what Y/n was doing right now. He hoped she was okay and happy.

Jungwon sighed again and turned away from the window. He decided to take a shower and go to bed early. Maybe a good night's rest would help him sort out his feelings.

Jungwon couldn't help but feel a sense of fear and uncertainty about his future. He had no idea where he would go or what he would do once he left the orphanage. Would he be able to make it on his own?

As he lay in bed, he heard a soft knock on the door. "Jungwon, can I come in?" It was the voice of his caretaker, Mrs. Lee.

Jungwon sat up and rubbed his eyes. "Yes, Mrs. Lee. Come in."

Mrs. Lee entered the room and sat down on the edge of his bed. "Jungwon, I know that you're worried about what will happen when you leave the orphanage. But I want you to know that you don't have to face it alone."

Jungwon looked at her with a mix of surprise and confusion. "What do you mean?"

"I mean that there are people out there who care about you and want to help you," Mrs. Lee explained. "Like Y/n and her family. They've taken you in as one of their own, and they want to see you succeed."

Jungwon felt a lump form in his throat as he thought about Y/n and her family. They had been there for him when no one else was, and he was grateful for their kindness.

"Thank you, Mrs. Lee," Jungwon said softly. "I'll try to remember that."

Mrs. Lee smiled at him. "Good. Now get some rest. Tomorrow is a new day."

With that, she got up and left the room, leaving Jungwon to his thoughts. As he drifted off to sleep, he felt a glimmer of hope for the first time in a long time. Maybe, just maybe, he wouldn't have to face the future alone after all.
