~ The next day ~

As Jungwon walked towards the school, he saw Y/n standing by the gate waiting for him. He smiled, feeling happy to see her. She greeted him warmly, and they walked towards their classroom together.

During their classes, Jungwon struggled to concentrate. His thoughts kept wandering back to the previous night when he had trouble sleeping, thinking about his future after leaving the orphanage. He was worried about what would happen to him once he turned 18 and had to leave the only place he had ever called home.

As the day progressed, Jungwon grew more anxious and silent. Y/n noticed that something was wrong and tried to get him to open up. She asked him if everything was okay, but Jungwon simply nodded and said he was fine.

After the school day ended, Y/n invited Jungwon to come with her to the park to hang out. Jungwon hesitated at first but eventually agreed, thinking that maybe it would help him take his mind off his worries.

As they walked around the park, Y/n tried to lift Jungwon's mood by telling him jokes and funny stories. She even convinced him to take off his mask and hoodie, reminding him that it was a beautiful day outside and he shouldn't be hiding behind his clothes.

For a moment, Jungwon forgot all his worries and enjoyed the moment with Y/n. As they sat on a bench watching the sunset, Y/n leaned her head on his shoulder, and Jungwon felt a strange warmth spreading through his chest. He realized how lucky he was to have a friend like her, someone who cared for him even when he couldn't open up to her.

As they got up to leave, Jungwon smiled at Y/n and thanked her for making his day better. Y/n returned the smile and hugged him tightly, telling him that she would always be there for him, no matter what. Jungwon felt a sense of comfort and security in her embrace, and he knew that he could always count on her.

~ Time skip, a week later ~
A week had passed since Y/n and Jungwon had become closer, spending their afternoons walking around the city and chatting about anything and everything. But lately, Y/n had noticed a change in Jungwon's behavior. He seemed to be closing off again, becoming more distant and quiet.

Y/n couldn't help but worry about him. She wanted to talk to him about it, but every time she tried, he would stay silent and avoid eye contact. One afternoon, she finally decided to confront him about it.

"Jungwon, what's going on? You've been so quiet lately," Y/n said, her voice filled with concern.

Jungwon remained silent, his eyes downcast as he fiddled with his fingers. Y/n could see the tears welling up in his eyes, and she knew something was really bothering him.

"Please, talk to me," Y/n pleaded, taking his hand in hers. "You can tell me anything."

Jungwon hesitated for a moment before finally speaking up. "I...I don't know if I can do this," he whispered, his voice barely audible.

"Do what?" Y/n asked, confused.

"Leaving the orphanage," Jungwon replied, his voice shaking. "I only have two years left, and then I'll have to leave everything behind."

Y/n felt her heart ache for him. She knew how much the orphanage meant to him and how hard it would be to leave everything behind. Without thinking, she pulled him into a tight embrace, holding him close as he broke down in tears.

"It's okay, Jungwon. You don't have to go through this alone," Y/n whispered soothingly, rubbing circles on his back. "I'm here for you, always."

Jungwon clung onto her, tears streaming down his face as he finally let out all the emotions he had been holding in. Y/n held him tightly, silently promising to be there for him every step of the way.

Y/n held Jungwon in her arms, feeling his sobs wrack his body. She knew that he had been bottling up his emotions for the whole week, and it was finally all coming out.

"It's not fair," Jungwon choked out between sobs. "I don't want to leave this place. It's the only home I've ever known."

Y/n rubbed his back gently, offering him comfort as he cried. She couldn't even imagine how difficult it must be for Jungwon to face the prospect of leaving the orphanage behind.

"I know it's hard, Jungwon," Y/n whispered, her voice filled with empathy. "But you don't have to go through this alone. I'm here for you."

Jungwon sniffled, looking up at Y/n with tear-stained eyes. "Thank you," he said softly. "I don't know what I'd do without you."

Y/n smiled at him, brushing a strand of hair from his face. "You'll never have to find out," she replied. "I'll always be here for you, no matter what."

Jungwon leaned into her embrace, feeling a sense of comfort wash over him. He had been so scared about facing the future alone, but with Y/n by his side, he felt like he could face anything.

For the rest of the afternoon, Y/n and Jungwon sat in silence, simply enjoying each other's company. They didn't need to talk about the future or the challenges they would face because, at that moment, all that mattered was being together.

As the sun began to set, Y/n knew that they would have to leave soon. But she didn't want to let go of Jungwon just yet.

"Can we stay like this for a little while longer?" Y/n asked, hugging him tighter.

Jungwon smiled, feeling a warmth spread through his chest. "Of course," he replied. "As long as you want."

~ Time skip ~

Y/n knew she didn't want to leave Jungwon alone, not even for a minute. She could see how exhausted he was, emotionally and physically drained from the weight of his thoughts about leaving the orphanage. And so, without a second thought, she made a decision.

"Jungwon, would you like to come stay at my house tonight? That way, you won't be alone," Y/n asked softly.

Jungwon looked up at her, his eyes filled with gratitude. "Really? You would do that for me?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Of course, Jungwon. I'm here for you," Y/n said, a small smile gracing her lips.

And so, Y/n offered Jungwon a piggyback ride to her house, knowing that he was too tired to walk the whole way there. Jungwon hesitated for a moment, unsure if he should accept such a gesture, but then Y/n urged him on.

"Come on, Jungwon. Hop on my back. We'll get there in no time," she said, her voice light and playful.

Jungwon hesitated for just a moment before finally deciding to climb onto Y/n's back. He wrapped his arms around her neck and held on tightly, feeling the warmth of her body against his own. They set off towards Y/n's house, the evening air cool against their skin.

As they made their way down the streets, Y/n could feel Jungwon slowly relaxing against her back. She could feel his breathing slowing down and his body becoming more at ease. And in that moment, Y/n knew that she had made the right decision. She would do anything to make sure that Jungwon felt safe, supported, and loved.

Finally, they arrived at Y/n's house, and she carefully set Jungwon down on his feet. He looked up at her with a grateful smile, and Y/n felt her heart swell with affection.

"Let's get you settled in," she said, leading the way inside.
