TWO WEEKS POST BREAK-UP

"You seem upset," Jack says.

"You know me well," I reply softly with a smile.

"What's on your mind?"

"When I first went to Nolan's house, my dad was hesitant on letting me go. He looked at me with tears in his eyes, and said: 'boys promise you the sun, the moon and the stars but in the end he'll leave you with nothing. Don't let yourself get taken advantage of.' I smiled and said, 'I won't, Nolan would never, and if he did, I'd drop him as quick as you can say 'hello'.' But three months later along the line, my dad was right."

Because boys will promise you the sun, the moon, and the stars and then six months later you'll find yourself drunk texting him asking why he gave you stars and left you when all you really wanted was him.
