THREE WEEKS POST-BREAKUP

"Just when you think you're doing good, just when you think you're surviving without him, he resurfaces in my life somehow. And it fucking sucks because I just want him to pull me into a hug and things to go magically click back into place, like puzzle pieces. Except Nolan's a special puzzle piece; he shapes himself to fit any other puzzle piece out there. There are some puzzle pieces that suit him perfectly, some that make him spread himself thin to handle them. But the thing with Nolan is that he was happy with my puzzle piece for three months. Then he realized that there are much, much better puzzle pieces out there, that would fit him better. Meanwhile, I'm not a universal puzzle piece. I am an edge and Nolan is my corner piece. I need him to complete me."

"Holy fuck, you're in deep," Jack replies with a shake of the head.
