Chapter 7: Lashing Out

Following the win against Chelsea, the team decided that we would go out and celebrate tonight.

"Leah!" I shouted from upstairs
Leah came storming up the stairs and into my room
"Can you not shout"
"Sorry, have you heard about tonight?" I asked her
"Yeah, we need to leave at 6"
I nodded before patting the empty side of my bed
Leah came a sat laid down next to me, I put my arm around her shoulder and she rested her head on my shoulder, a normal thing in our friendship now

"Scroll back up" Leah said as we scrolled through TikTok
It was a video of an edit someone made of me
I shock my head and scrunched my nose up
"Ewww" I giggled
"Ah cutie" Leah laughed, as she carried on swiping on my phone

"It's 2 now, should I make us some food and then we can get ready?" I asked her
"Yeah alright" Leah smiled getting of my bed 

"Leah! What do you want" I asked from the kitchen
"Ham sandwich, is that even a question?" She snickered from the living

"There you go" I handed her the plate and sat down next to her and ate my sandwich

"Alex!" Leah said from her bedroom
I walked into her bedroom
"Mhm?"
"What are you wearing?"
"Well it's hot out so I might go with a 2 piece plain cream short sleeve shirt and shorts set and my panda dunks, why?"
"I don't know what to wear, what if I'm to warm or get too cold?" She asked
"Well I have a spare jumper in my car, so if you get cold I could run out and get you that, being cold is better then being too warm because you can't change your outfit if your to warm but you can add clothes on if your too cold?" I suggested
"Alright thank you"

C: Just one more try?
                            A: I'm sorry but no

                    New messages

C: Hey Alex, saw you beat
    Chelsea 3-1! Can we
    Talk?

"You got a new message" Leah said
"Mhm who from?"
"Cassie?"
"Fuck Sake" I mumbled
"Who is she?"
"Ex"
"What does she want?" Leah said defensively
"Don't know, but I'm not interested" I looked up from the phone and smiled at Leah

"Finally!" Beth shouted over the music
I scoffed jokingly and gave her a handshake
"You alright Beth?"
"Yeah, you?"
I nodded and greeted everyone else

"I'm just gonna get a drink?" Leah said from besides me
I nodded and carried on with the conversation I was having with Stina

"Where did Leah go?" Beth asked
It's been 20 minutes since Leah left and it wasn't like the bar was fairly crowded so it shouldn't have taken that long
"I don't know, I'll give it another 5 minutes and then I'll go check"

5minutes went by and she still wasn't back

"I'm gonna go check where Leah is"

I saw Leah waiting by the bar talking to someone
I went up and stood next to her
"Leah?" I said
Leah turned around, her face full of horror
"Do you know this man?" I asked her
She shook her head
"He won't leave me alone" she whispered
I nodded before putting my body between the man and Leah
"I wasn't finished speaking to her" the man said
"She's finished speaking to you"
"Thought we were getting somewhere" the man said reaching out trying to grab Leah's arm
I grabbed his arm and pushed it back
"Don't touch her" I said sternly
I lifted my arm about to push the guy away from us
"Alex" Leah whispered, putting her hand on my arm

I put my arm back down to the side of my body
"She shouldn't be wearing what she is wearing if she doesn't want men on her" the man shrugged
"She can wear what she likes" I said getting even more angry
"Just giving some advice"
"Well it's shit, now move on"
"Only if I can take the young lady" he smirked
I didn't even need to reply, I pushed him as far as I could and then followed him, i kicked his legs making him fall over and bent down to say something
"I'll give you some advice, change your opinion on women and then maybe you'll get somewhere in life"
As I pulled back he grabbed a pocket knife and slashed my cheek
Security ran over and grabbed the man, I put my hand on my cheek to stop the bleeding and turned around to face Leah
"Shit, you alright" Leah said panicked
"Yeah don't worry, just need a tissue or something"
We walked over to the girls
"Anyone got a tissue?" I asked
A few gasps came from the table
"Alright it's not that bad" I said
"Yeah I have some tissues and a plaster" Kim said
"Thanks captain" I winked

I sat down in my seat
"Leah could you clean the cut up?" I asked her
She nodded and gently grabbed my face turning it towards her
She cleaned it up and then stuck the plaster on it.
"Thank you" I smiled at her

Leah looked agitated, constantly looking around and trying to cover her arms with the shirt she had on
"You want my jumper?" I asked her
She nodded with a smile
I ran out to the car and grabbed it before running back in
I gave it to her and sat down
Once she put it on I wrapped my arm around her shoulder and pulled her into me
"It's okay, his gone" I whispered
Leah settled underneath my arm and carried on talking with the girls

I winced as I accidentally wiped face cleaning product over the cut
"I'm sorry" Leah said leaning against the door frame
"What do you mean?"
"If I hadn't gone to the bar then this would have never happened"
"Or maybe if I wasn't being silly and didn't let myself be that close to him with out seeing his hands?" I said lifting an eyebrow with a smile walking over to her
She shrugged nodding slightly
"He shouldn't have spoken to you after you said you didn't want to talk to him" I smiled down at her
"I guess"

It's been over a week now since the incident and with the hot weather meant that I got a tan but also meant that the scar was more visible, so it was no surprise when rumours start to spread on social media

'Fight break out at arsenal?'
'Alex Brown in a fight'
'Leah Williamson involved in a fight with Alex Brown?"
'Katie McCabe rumoured to have hit Alex Brown on a night out?'

Any person I had been around in the last week was accused of the cut on my cheek...

Leah and I was laid in my bed watching a movie instead of downstairs, since the tv didn't work anymore...

"How can people even think of these rumours?" I questioned
"I mean the Katie McCabe rumour sounds the most realistic" Leah joked

"It's getting late, we have training tomorrow, should we go to sleep?" I asked Leah
"Mhm yeah, I'm so tired" Leah groaned trying to stand up
"Woah that tired you've forgotten how to stand?" I joked
"Yep" Leah laughed slightly

"Morning" I smiled at the staff as we walked in
"Katie we have some unfinished business" i said walking into the changing rooms
"Hmm I think we do too"
"How dare you cut me with a pocket knife!" I joked
"I'll do it again" Katie winked laughing
I gasps as a joke and put my hand on my heart

"Of course it would be Katie that is rumoured to that sort of things"
Beth piped in making the squad laugh

I showed Katie my fists, which she copied and we started to lightly punch it other, not hard but putting it on for an act

Beth got it on record and put it on her story
"The rumours are true, it was Katie" was the caption....

It's funny isn't it when the girls get blamed for either getting touched inappropriately or get sex name calling at them because of what they are wearing instead of the man who's mouth it came out of in this world we live in... 🤷🏼‍♀️
