Chapter 13: Loan Finshed

To say I had the season off my life would be an understatement.
Managing to score 30 goals in the wsl and 15 assists as well
Topping the scoring board in both the WSL and Champions League for goals and assists
Arsenal lost to Barca in the finals of the champions league
But won the FA Cup against Chelsea, we're I scored 3 goals and assist 1 to make the score line 4-1.

The problem was, after coming off the back off such an amazing season for both Arsenal and myself meant that clubs plus Arsenal were trying to sign me... only problem was Man Utd.

Everyone knows that they aren't great with transfers deals but with my contract expiring at the end of July, it meant that my future was in my hands.

Or so I thought...

Since halfway through the season Utd had been trying to get me sold for a big price, behind my back

I had only found out about this a few weeks ago but kept it under wraps so the team could focusing on finishing strong, when I mean team I mean Leah mostly...

Big teams were looking to buy me, such as...
Barcelona for 850k
Lyon for 750k
Wolfsburg for 800k
Chelsea for 855k

The thing that made me stressed every since I had found out was the fact that most of the teams were abroad, which was something I didn't want to commit to...no matter the price.

I live off this quote... in fact it's tattooed on my rib cage... "money doesn't buy happiness"

I wouldn't be happy at any of those European teams and anyways like most of the girls, who play professionally, don't do it for the money, since it's only a recent thing where you can make a living off it.

I tried really, really hard to make sure after finding out about the secret dealing united have been trying to do with bigger teams for money, not affect me on the pitch and also at home with Leah... but eventually it had caught up to me.

Flashback:

"What should we do tonight then" Leah asked coming to sit next to me on the sofa

I was to busy texting my agent to even realise Leah was speaking in the first place

"Alex?"

"Hm" I said looking up from my phone

"Are you evening listening" Leah snapped at me

"Sorry, what did you say?" Trying to keep myself calm

"Doesn't matter" Leah huffed

"It does, tell me please"

"Who are you texting on your phone so much" Leah said trying to grab my phone

I pulled my phone away from her so she couldn't reach it

"It's not your business to know" I snapped

"Woah okay and here's me thinking we were getting somewhere" Leah said storming off

She thought I was talking to a different girl.
Leah and I hadn't made it official yet and might not ever after this performance today...

End of flashback

I walked into the changing rooms after lunch and sat on my phone trying to figure my future out

The changing rooms door slammed open, I looked up at the door, to see Leah with her phone in her hands

"When we're you going to tell me" Leah said chucking her phone at me so I could see the link

Alex Brown to Barca... Here we go

"What!" I said standing up

"You said to me you were gonna try sign for arsenal... but now your going to Barca"

"Leah it's not how it looks"

"Please let me explain" I added

"Think is says it all there doesn't it" Leah said grabbing her phone out of my hands and tried to walk away

I followed her and pulled her arm back

"Please Leah" I asked

"No! You lied to me!" Leah said storming out of the room...

Only if she knew this would be my last day for arsenal...

I packed everything up and went back to the house where I packed all my clothes and stuff up and put it in my car.

I walked back into the house and took off the jumper I was wearing, the Nike one that Leah suggested I got, and put it on her bed

Locking up the car and placing the key under the mat I got into my car and started to drive away from London.

Pulling over to send a text message to everyone on the group chat and Leah personally before starting to drive again

"Where do I start? You guys have made me feel at home at arsenal and it feels like I'm losing a piece of my heart having to leave. I'll never forget the memories we made this season and hope to see you guys in the future... COYG! ❤️"

"Leah, the way you made me feel this season will be something I never forget. You are the only person besides my mum who made me feel so safe. I'm sorry this is the way we left it but I'll come back and we can start all over again, if that's something you want? Just please believe me when I say that I didn't know about the Barca rumours, there's a lot going on at Utd right now and I'm not sure about my future. Next time I see you in person I'll explain everything.
