Motivation combined with spite was a truly amazing thing.

There were still times when you were too slow, stumbled for half a second, messed up just enough to be unable to avoid him, but it was hardly as demoralising as before. What were 7 more deaths in the grand scheme of things? 076 was as difficult to counter as before but when escape was just tantalisingly out of reach, you could only try your best.

You could comfortably get past the boxes now, the familiarity having sunk into your bones long ago. The rest of the rooms were more difficult. Your final destination was too open, too much space for you to weave and duck around with the added difficulty of needing to get 076 into one very specific area without being trapped. If only the solution to surviving wasn't having to kill him, you bemoaned. Everything would have been much simpler if you could have just avoided this whole encounter.

Your reflexes guided you through the next set of doors and into the gun room again. You still picked it up despite its current uselessness. A sword came swinging above you, you aimed the gun and shot 076's leg before dashing off. He only barely grunted at the impact as his flesh was torn and blood splattered across the floor.

The doors you passed through closed too slowly as a small blade that was thrown by 076 grazed your arm. You cursed under your breath, hardly feeling the pain but terribly aware of the blood dripping down. At this rate, the halls would be trailed with blood, his and yours. It was an eye for an eye, a wound for a wound, blood for blood.

As 079 guided you towards the elevator room again, you considered your options. The timeframe between arriving at the room and the elevator falling was short. Unless you got there faster, you would only have mere seconds to lure 076 under it. You wouldn't have enough time to set a trap which meant in order for you to get him in the right area, you would need to be under the elevator yourself, wait and then rush out before also getting crushed.

F*ck. That didn't sound good but it was the best option.

And then, of course, you missed an unexpected swing from 076, the unfamiliarity damning you. You fell. The last thing you saw was red. Like 076's eyes. Like blood. Like your guts, all mangled and broken.

Oh well. Better luck next time.

A stab through the gut, again. Harshly crashing against the floor, a blade swinging down as though you were being executed. A cleave from shoulder to hip. Your head getting crushed. Barely making it to the elevator only to die less than a metre away. An arm being cut off and of course, 076 finishing you off moments later. Surviving was difficult but it wasn't anything new to you.

You would just have to try again.

Ten more attempts brought you here, trapped in a deadlock you couldn't win with 076 looming over you, dark red eyes locked ominously with yours.
