The dorm building's glass all shattered, sending shards in every direction. The students crouched and covered their faces with their arms. The fire crackled and the explosion was deafening. The students were shouting at one another, a ringing that didn't leave their ears.
Kirishima and Shoji had been pushed to the floor. When Kirishima turned to face the building his jaw dropped and his eyes watered. He hardened himself and tried again to barge into the building. Shoji acted quickly and went behind Kirishima, wrapping all his arms behind the boy.
Heroes gathered around and pulled students back, sending them to the main building. Aizawa also arrived, turning off Kirishima's quirk long enough for Shoji and Kaminari to move him.
Sero ran to Aizawa, "Bakugo and Todoroki might be in there!" He shouted. Aizawa's eyes widened. Aizawa grabbed another hero by the arm and whispered something to them. The hero looked at Aizawa with confusion then went around to the others. Aizawa grabbed Sero's shoulders, spun, and pushed him away from the building.
Sero jogged up to Mina, who was waiting for him. "What did he say?" Mina shouted, covering the top of her eyes.
Sero grabbed her hand and tugged, "He didn't say anything! But-But I think they're gonna go in!"
Firefighters had arrived on the scene. Some directing 1-A students away from the building. The police had also arrived, creating a blockade so students would not go near. They sectioned off 1-A from the rest of the school, keeping them huddled in a corner and not allowing other students near.
Paramedics formed groups and lines, checking off each student and their health as quickly as possible. They helped remove shards from students' skin and clothes. They cleaned up some minor cuts and focused on the students that had fallen from the explosion.
On the count of the firefighters, they split into teams, half stormed the building along with a few heroes. Suddenly, just as the last fighter stepped in, there was another blast.
"Holy shit!" Shouted the Chief. He commanded more of the men to hose down the building. The fire was spreading.
Ojiro was getting his head checked when he grabbed the paramedic's hand and pushed them away. He scurried to the Chief. "Sir!"
"Not now, kid!" He shouted more commands. Moving heavy material around.
"Sir! It's not a normal fire!"
The man stopped, "You know the cause?"
Ojiro nodded, "There's a gas leak, sir!"
"Perfect," he muttered under his breath. "Everyone, it's a gas leak!" The firemen stepped back, still not moving positions. Two men left for the truck, grabbing a load of masks that they handed down to the rest.
The chief looked down at Ojiro, "Go and tell the paramedics!"
Ojiro nodded and did as told. The paramedics took in a handful of students with more serious injuries in their cars and drove farther down. The police moved all students and staff onto the main road and blocked the entire street.
The Chief called on an officer, "Go get me a janitor!"
"For what?" The officer looked out to the street, "I don't even know if they're here!"
"Well, look! We need to shut off the gas current or else the fire won't subside!"
"Fucking hell!" The officer rushed to the large mass of the student and staff population that filled the streets. "I need a janitor! Hello? Janitor! Someone get me a janitor!" The crowd just stared at the officer. Silent. The officer stepped back, shuddering. He inhaled and walked through the crowd. He shoved through the students, grabbing those in uniforms. He grabbed a tall, well-built man with a beard and tattoos. "Are you a janitor?"
