And yes, this was inspired by a TF2 Death message

For when a player deals enough damage to themselves to themselves, such as drinking some damage potions or other means.
And for the named item message?
<player> said goodbye to this cruel world using <item>
Also, this version:
<player> said goodbye to this cruel world because of <player/mob>
for when another player or another mob hurts you before you end yourself
And here's the longest version:
<player> said goodbye to this cruel world because of <player/mob> using <item>
