Haerin thought that the werewolf would be the last beast she would ever come face to face with, or at least the last wolf she would encounter. That's why when the girls pulled out a dumbbell from which they blew, producing a sound similar to a howl, she didn't expect larger wolves than the one that had attacked her before to appear.

Although she was initially quite scared, the wolves approached several of the girls and let them pet them as if they were just big dogs. They seemed less dangerous than they appeared. Their fur was different, but most of them were grey or black, with bright, yellow, or blue eyes. She could see some of them opening their mouths to receive the food thrown at them, revealing a row of very sharp teeth.

If she hadn't been living through incredible and fantastic situations for days, she would have laughed at those girls who seemed to be talking to the wolves. They didn't talk to them like those forty-year-old ladies who carry a Chihuahua and treat them like their babies; it was as if they were communicating with the animals telepathically.

Soyeon gave the command, and the huntresses mounted the wolves, around three per animal. The leader looked at her and moved forward, leaving Haerin alone.

"Come up with us," Yuqi extended her hand to her.

Haerin accepted, and with inhuman strength, Yuqi pulled her up onto the animal with little effort.

A punch from this girl would disfigure your face.

Miyeon was at the very front, directing the wolf they were riding. This wolf had gray fur and was surprisingly soft. Haerin wanted to hug it with all her might, but that didn't mean she wasn't afraid. Yuqi was behind her, arranging some of her own and Miyeon's backpacks at the back of the wolf, so Haerin found herself between the two girls.

"This way, we prevent you from falling," Miyeon said as she turned slightly to look at her. "Selene and the rest are quite fast, so hold on tight."

As soon as she said that, Haerin held on to the wolf's back as best as she could and squeezed her legs against the animal's sides, which made Yuqi laugh.

"Don't worry, you won't fall."

Haerin nodded. "Selene? Is that its name?"

Miyeon gently stroked the animal's head. "Yes. Each one has a name and a different story."

"They're our best friends," Yuqi added. "Our companions."

"They help us on the hunts."

"Hunts?" Haerin asked.

"Yes, we..."

Soyeon's shout interrupted them. "Alright! Everyone ready! We're not far from the camp! We can rest there!"

As soon as she finished speaking, she patted her black-furred wolf and started running at an abnormal speed, followed by all the wolves.

Haerin almost fell from the sudden jerk of the wolf, bumping into Yuqi behind her, who grabbed her shoulders and put her back in place.

They were in the centre of the pack, crossing the city road without any problem. The wolves leapt over cars without anyone noticing. She was surprised that no vehicles were crushed, considering that the animal must weigh thousands of kilograms and was carrying around three girls and their belongings.

Now that she thought about it, where were their weapons?

She waited until they were out of the city to begin her questioning, hoping they wouldn't find her annoying and would at least answer some of her questions. Luckily, she had ended up with Yuqi and Miyeon, who had been quite friendly towards her.
