" I don't know why I agreed to this!"
"Don't be so dramatic."
Danielle was hysterical "How can I not be? Haerin! You've dragged me into a mission!"
She stretched "Well, so what? You needed some fun, you've done nothing in all these years at camp."
"Exactly!" Danielle paced back and forth, gathering things to pack into her backpack "I was perfectly fine! Until you showed up!"
Haerin laughed "I make your life more interesting, come on, Dani."
"And more dangerous!"
"Well, but..." she searched for an excuse "Think of it this way, you'll return to your cabin as a heroine."
"If we're not killed before then!"
"I don't think so, Dani, those monsters won't be much of a problem."
Danielle shook her head "I was talking about Kim and Pham!"
Haerin widened her eyes "Ah... Well, I can't assure you about that."
"I swear if Kim Minji doesn't kill you, I will."
Haerin stood up and approached her friend, trying to calm her "Don't worry, Dani, you'll get the chance to kill me, Kim isn't capable of-"
However, the mentioned one appeared from behind, cutting Haerin off.
"I'm not capable of what, Kang?"
Danielle and Haerin both screamed in surprise.
"God! Put a bell on yourself or something!"
Minji rolled her eyes "Now you want to put a collar on me, Kang? Not even a date first?"
What's gotten into her? Fucking asshole.
Behind her appeared Pham Hanni, laughing as she slung an arm around her friend's neck.
Danielle widened her eyes at what Hades' daughter said and looked at her friend, incredulous.
Haerin turned to Minji with an ironic smile "Don't worry, Minji, I don't need to put a collar on someone who's already crawling on their knees behind me."
Minji took a step closer, defiant "Crawling? That's a good place for you, Kang, not for me."
Hanni and Danielle raised an eyebrow and glanced at each other from a distance.
Hanni chuckled, interrupting the exchange of sharp words between the two girls "When you're done flirting, let us know and we'll go... We're not in a hurry, although Lee Hyein seems to be."
"Hanni, what...?"
"Come on!" Danielle shouted as she dragged Haerin along the path out of camp.
The other two followed, Minji complaining and shooting murderous glances at Hanni for what she had said, while the shorter one simply laughed at the situation.
Haerin didn't understand a thing, one minute Minji hated her with all her might, and other times there was this strange tension and exchange of words that bordered on flirting, which she supposed was to annoy her.
They exited the camp entrance and began walking to leave the grounds completely. It wasn't far, the camp forest wasn't in the direction they were heading, and it would only take about fifteen minutes to get out.
But those fifteen minutes would feel eternal if none of them cooperated.
"Can you stop breathing so loudly? You're ruining the mood," Minji murmured, casting a disdainful glance at Haerin.
