Minji was really happy.

She had finally gotten a continuous and sufficient sleep, feeling like new.

And all thanks to Kang Haerin.

She was so happy to have her by her side without any fights or tears that maybe that was the only thing that kept her from falling asleep at first, but in the end, she went to bed with a big smile on her face.

So, the next day, just when the sun had been up for a few hours, Minji quietly slipped out of her cabin and headed to the daughter of Aphrodite's cabin.

She remembered that one day Danielle had told her how she sometimes sneaked into Haerin's room to scare her, and out of curiosity, Minji asked her which room it was.

"Third window to the right," and that's where Minji headed.

She knew what she was about to do was risky and would probably earn her a serious punishment if she got caught, but the idea of surprising Haerin was too tempting to resist. Besides, since when did she care about rules?

There were already a few campers outside, going about their activities, so she looked around before starting to climb the vine that covered parts of the wall.

She was grateful for her strength and physical ability to climb an entire floor holding onto something as weak as that vine.

Finally, she reached the window and peeked inside, seeing that the other beds were empty except for one.

Good.

That still kept the element of surprise.

With great care, she opened the window and slipped inside, making sure not to make any noise.

The room was lit by the sunlight streaming through the window, the door was closed, but she could hear people walking outside, and the canopy of the bed she assumed was Haerin's was drawn.

Please, let it be her.

She gently pulled back the canopy and could recognize Haerin's hair spread across the pillow, and there she was, completely asleep, her face serene and relaxed. Even asleep, she looked like a princess.

Minji stayed there for a while, watching her, seeing her rest in peace. She looked so calm that Minji almost felt guilty for wanting to wake her.

Almost.

With a mischievous smile, Minji leaned over the bed and bent down towards the girl.

"Good morning, sleeping beauty," she whispered. "It's time to wake up."

Haerin didn't even move. Minji frowned, determined not to give up so easily. She leaned a little closer, her lips almost brushing Haerin's ear.

"Haerin," she tried again, a little louder this time. "Wake up."

But Haerin just stirred slightly, without opening her eyes or giving any sign of waking up.

Minji sighed, considering her options. She could try shaking her gently, but that would surely scare her, and she didn't want to be thrown out of the cabin because of her screams. Then, an idea crossed her mind. Maybe with a kiss, like in those princess tales...

Just as Minji began to lean towards her lips, Haerin moved suddenly. Her fist shot out, connecting directly with Minji's jaw.

The punch took her completely by surprise, making her close her eyes and lose her balance, falling backward onto the cabin floor. Pain spread across her face at the crack of her jaw, and she brought a hand to her mouth to avoid screaming.
