Chapter X: New Life quote: "People can change"

The boy with goat legs? Yes him he haunts my every move like I am unable to move, but I'm not paralysed. He's not horrifying to look at he's got a kind face like an angel or a guide. In a nice way, he haunts my dreams he doesn't try to kill me but guides me somewhere.

Where the fields are green, kids run around with weapons, and 10 small houses stand lined up in parallel lines. At the far top is the king and queen, two grand houses bigger than the others. They look the same, but I feel drawn to the one on the left it calls me like the way destiny does.

The call echoes hard to make out at first, but it fades to one clear voice and three words, "Daughter of Lightning."

Reality hit my mind. I began to wake up short of breath and confused. "This isn't my room." The room was smaller with a few small beds and a table covered with herbs. Suddenly, the door swings open, and Giselle walks in, staring at the ground whilst holding a crate of fruit.

She set the crate down on the closest bed. Finally, she looked up at me. "Hildy! You're awake at last. we were all so worried you'd never wake up. " Giselle ran up to me and gave me a hug. "What do you mean you thought I would never wake up. I laughed

Giselle instantly shot back and sat down with a grim and worried face. "Hildy, you've been unconscious or asleep for a couple of days."

"What few days!? That means-" I began. "The trial is in less than a few hours, and you still have to compete, " Giselle finished I was struck, but instead of lightning, it was fear, worry, anger it was all rising like the tide of the ocean.

"No this this isn't fair. That means I go in first. I haven't prepared. I've pretty much been dead the past few days. I'm all healed now, right?" I have to calm down. Panicking isn't going to get me anywhere.

"Sorry Gigi, can you and the girls help me prepare?" I slowed down this time. "Of course, Hildy, don't worry, we've got you now. Now, to mention it, we did find something on your dad, " she reassuringly said, giving me some hope for todays impossible mission.

After a few checkups and a couple of students giving me a surprising look, we ran to the library to find Daphne and Lucy. By the time I got there, we found the dynamic trio with them (the dynamic trio being Beatrix Reena and Millicent). I stopped stunned to see them. Stunned to see them, Giselle had to grab my hand and drag me over to them.

The four of them stood aligned behind the table, waiting in me to sit on the chair where a book lay out. Daphne saw me and got up to give me a hug, as did the others. "Hildy, you're awake at last," Daphne said, happy and astonished all in once.

"Hello Daphne Lucy," I hugged them. "And hello Milicent Reena and Beatrix, what are you all doing here?" I asked, hugging the other three as well. "Well, Hildy, we're here to help here sit we found something." Beatrix guided me to the seat where Daphne sat.

I guess people can change.

I gave Lucy the "they know?" Look, and she nodded back at me as well as gesturing to the book for me to read. "What is this? You know I can't read well?" Daphne nodded, pulling up a chair with a book in her arms.

"Yes, we know, but this book is in a different language, so we're here to translate it together." she paused, sitting the book down "with this book to help," she added

I rolled my eyes, smiling. Might as well. Just look at the pictures here. I was caught off guard when the words started translating itself. The other girls were trying to translate it, but I ignored them staring at the gold font title of the book.

"The tale of Hercules. Who's he?" I read out then, looking to the others for an answer instead of replying they stared at me lost for words. Until Reena spoke up "Hildy how did you read that I thought" she stopped herself "yes I know I can't read but its kind of well, pretty clear to me can you not read it"
