Part 29: Prison break

They knew that the Kingdom of Science was on their way to rescue them, they knew help was on the way. However they, know it be best if they try to escape on their own.

They didn't really know where to start, but they had a bit more problems. It turns out the holes that were being dug earlier were actually pit traps. This wasn't good since it made it clear that Tsukasa was getting prepared for anything Senku might throw at him. Now if they tried to rescue them, they were gonna fall from Tsukasa's trap. Which meant that now, they have to escape on their own or else it will be bad. With Chrome's knowledge of science and y/n's knowledge of weapon making, they had a chance.

However it was a lot easier said than done since they lacked the proper or really any resources. All they had were the rocks Nikki gave her which were no good for a prison break. They couldn't cut through the ropes fast enough without them getting caught and definitely couldn't break the stone walls around them. It was hard to think of an escape plan. Not to mention, the guys Tsukasa has made it more difficult since it was clear they were all strong.

However, thanks to one of them having a loud mouth, it confirmed that the spike-pit falls were intended for Senku. And the plan was just to get him into one, trapping or killing him. The one who has a big mouth is apparently named Yo Uei and he was a former police officer. And the reason he has no shame in spilling the plans out loud in front of the prisoners was because they were locked up with no real way out or to communicate with the Kingdom of science.

"Besides he's just a Monkey Boy with a totally hot warrior babe," Yo said.

Y/n scoffed as Chrome didn't like the insult and name calling.

"Who do you think you're calling a weak twig arm, bean sprout looking, dumbass monkey boy," Chrome asked, all pissed.

"What? I didn't say all that," Yo said confused.

"Yes you did," Chrome yelled.

"At ease boy," y/n said as she rubbed his back. "Don't waste your breath."

"Yeah. Listen to the foxy warrior lady," Yo said.

Y/n rolled her eyes as Chrome got more pissed.

"You're gonna regret all of this you hear me," Chrome yelled.

Y/n could tell that Chrome was getting too angry so she pulled him off and sat him down. They needed to escape but in order to do that, they needed supplies. Chrome knew that too so they had to find a way to get some supplies.

After Chrome pretended that he had to use the bathroom, he used that chance to gather up some supplies. However it was just some random flowers, grass and sticks. Not really anything valuable to help them escape.

Chrome got excited when he found a four leaf clover since he reminded him of good childhood memories with Ruri. However he quickly snapped back into focus and threw the clover onto the ground upset.

"How are we supposed to escape with this?! It's just grass and twigs," Chrome yelled.

Y/n quickly covered his mouth and pushed him against the wall as a guard was noticing Chrome's screaming. He turns to see what looks like y/n and Chrome due to the position it looked like they were making out or something and he gets a bit uncomfortable and quickly turns around. Y/n notice the guard not paying attention to them and she takes her hand off Chrome's mouth and back away.

"Stay quiet," y/n whispered. "We can't let them know what we're doing."

"Right, sorry," Chrome apologized.

"But maybe we can use those twigs you got," y/n suggested.

Chrome thought for a bit and got an idea. He was gonna use the twigs to start a fire then use the first to burn the ropes. Y/n was about to stop him but he was already starting to make the fire. Even though he tried his hardest, he couldn't start on and fell to the ground defeated.
