"Are you sure that you want to do this?" I asked and looked at her while Henry went off to find Caden so that we could all talk together. "It'd probably be better if you leave with him tonight and take the bandaid off quicker than to wait."

Mandy sighed and moved a hand through her hair before she shook her head. "Can we talk about this when we are alone alone?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, and I had a feeling that she wanted to talk to me when we were in my room and not where there could be a secret camera or something like that with us.

I frowned but slowly nodded. I was slightly worried but wasn't as worried because I knew that she would be fine. "The kids will need to be out then?" I asked with a raised eyebrow, and she nodded.

"I know that they might not like it, but... ya." She shrugged and grimaced while she cleared her throat. "I would like to talk to you where they can't hear us either." Her voice was barely above a whisper when she said that, and I had a feeling that she was looking around.

I moved a hand across my face and sighed before I slowly nodded, not annoyed that she wanted to talk to me alone. "Ok," I said with another small sigh before I cleared my throat. "Then we can talk when we are alone alone."

There was a knock on the door before the door to the room opened, and we looked that way, staying silent while whoever was at the door entered the room, and the door was closed again.

I took a deep breath and let out while I relaxed because I could tell that it was Caden and Henry.

"So, are you needing another night to decide what you want to do?" Caden asked, gently, and Mandy hesitated before she nodded. "Is there anything that I can help you with?" he asked.

He raised an eyebrow while both he and Henry walked over to chairs in front of us and sat down, the chairs shifting with their weight as they sat down.

Mandy hesitated and looked down while she shrugged. "I don't know," she said softly. She cleared her throat and shifted in her seat before she grabbed my hand and started to play with my fingers, her hands shaking. "Thank you, though."

Caden hummed and slowly nodded before he looked at me. "Do you mind if we talk to her privately?" he asked, and her whole body grew tense while her heart skipped a beat before it started to pound harder in her chest. "It won't take long, and she will be fine."

"I'd rather not," Mandy said, her voice still barely above a whisper before I could say a word. She grabbed my hand tighter, and I could tell that she didn't want me to say yes. "I'd rather she stay here, with me."

Caden closed his eyes and let out an annoyed sigh, but he didn't say a word.

I had a feeling that he wanted to talk to her about Werewolf stuff, but he couldn't because I was in the room and was human, who shouldn't know about Werewolf stuff, even though I did.

"Please," Caden said and turned his attention back to Mandy. He tried to keep the annoyance out of his voice, but it didn't work, and I frowned while I bit my tongue to keep from scolding him. "You can stay here if you would like, but I would like five minutes of your time, alone."

"If I leave, can Max take my spot?" I asked when Mandy didn't respond, and they looked at me. "I don't know what's going on, but I do know that she doesn't want to be alone with the two of you for whatever reason."

I ignored the flinch of hurt from Henry and pressed my lips into a thin line while I stared at Caden, knowing full well that he was the person that had the main power to either deny or accept my request.

Caden studied us before he looked at Mandy, weighing the pros and cons about my question. "How does that sound?" he asked and raised an eyebrow, and I bit back a sigh of relief, grateful that he was considering it and would let Mandy decide. "Would you mind if Max was here while we talked and Carley left?"

Mandy hesitated before she looked at me. She didn't say a word, but I could tell that she wanted to make sure that this was what I wanted and not doing it for their benefit.

I slowly nodded, not looking at her. I made sure that my face was a mask and that they couldn't tell what I was thinking because I didn't want them to know that I knew about Werewolves and why they wanted to talk to her alone.

Finally, Mandy sighed before she nodded, relenting. She cleared her throat and shifted in her seat while she faced them. "Ok," she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Ok?" Caden asked and raised an eyebrow.

"If Max is open to staying here with me, then I will talk to the two of you in "private" without Carley." She hesitated and paused while she shifted again. "Can she be right outside the door waiting for us to finish?" she asked hesitantly.

"She can," Caden confirmed with a nod before he cleared his throat and looked at me. "Is Max nearby?"

"He's in this house, yes," I replied with a quick nod. "I don't know where he is at, but he is here."

Caden nodded and reached for his phone. He stayed silent while he waited for the person to answer.

"Hello?" someone, Max, asked when he picked up, sounding a little shocked and worried. "What is it, Sir? Is Carley ok? What happened?"

"She is fine," Caden replied, sounding amused while he leaned back into his seat. He cleared his throat and shifted in his seat. "Can you come to the office?"

There was a long pause, and I could tell that Max was wondering why he was needed when all he was supposed to do was wait.

However, he didn't question it and said, "I am on my way."

And with that, the line went dead.
