Jemima still had her face buried in her lap when Jeremiah called her again. She swallowed as she picked up the call.
"I'm outside your hostel, come out," he said and ended the call. Jemima chuckled angrily getting off her bed and wearing her slippers. Jeremiah had only spent two years at CUA, she desperately prayed that he hadn't killed someone. She almost couldn't believe that Jeremiah was a cultist.
He had always been the coolest of the two of them, he never found trouble even if trouble went looking for him and now upon getting to university, he had joined a cult. And worse a cult that went off with people's heads and they still roamed the school compounds like they had done nothing wrong.
She shivered as she walked towards the main gate of her hostel, she could already make out the image of Jeremiah leaning against a Toyota Camry, something told her that one of the cultists and even worse Micah could own the car.
"Get in" Jeremiah commanded as he started walking towards the driver's seat.
"If this car belongs to any of your cult members or Micah, I'm not getting in" Jemima replied wearing a huge frown.
"If I were you Jemima, I would get into this car right now" Jeremiah shot back and Jemima pulled her head backward.
"Jerry, did you just yell at me?" Jemima asked while Jeremiah pulled his lips into a thin line.
"I won't say it again Jemi, Get into the car," Jeremiah said opening the driver's door and getting into the car. Jemima stared at the tinted window of the car, She couldn't see Jeremiah but she could make out images in her head, him fretting because he didn't know how to explain to her, or the fact that he got caught. If it wasn't Bimbo, Jeremiah never fretted. It wasn't his go-to emotion.
Jemima closed his eyes as Paul and Peter's words rang in her head again. She refused to admit it but she wanted to know that Jeremiah wasn't a part of them. That he wasn't a murderer. Without another thought, she yanked the door open and got it.
"How many people have you killed?" Jemima asked while Jeremiah turned to her with a blank face.
"Jemimah, are you being serious right now?" Jeremiah asked and Jemima sighed softly. Jeremiah's sarcastic reply already answered her question.
"I haven't killed anyone and King isn't who you think he is" Jeremiah added and Jemima turned in her seat to face him.
"I know exactly who he is. He's a murderer!" Jemima yelled the tips of her eyes red.
"And who fed that amount of shit to you Jemima?" Jeremiah asked and Jemima chuckled.
"Doesn't everyone in CUA know this information except me?" Jemima shot back, her reply sending Jeremiah into silence.
"Of every bad and terrible vice you could pick up Jeremiah, you picked up being in a cult? Really?" she asked again and Jeremiah sighed.
"I am not a part of the Titans okay?" Jeremiah replied and Jemima froze.
"You aren't part of the Titans?" she asked her voice unsure.
"I am not a part of the Titans. Why the hell won't you believe me anyway?" Jeremiah asked and Jemimah swallowed resting her back on the seat.
"Then what's your relationship with Micah? He had the keys to your house and hell you have mentioned him a lot of times when talking at home and to Mom and Dad. They wouldn't believe that the King their son always talks about is a murderer and a cultist" Jemima muttered.
"I am very sorry that I can't explain all this to you Jemima because it's not in my place to. But I'll say it again, King isn't who you think he is" Jeremiah replied attempting to defend Micah.
