50 'FIFTY'

Bimbo stormed towards the swimming pool. The way everyone was looking at her had changed, more a levelled headed look and whispers to outright insults thrown at her face, to pity looks, to disgusted looks. The person she thought she was fighting the world was, apparently wasn't fighting the world with her. Silas has assured her that Niyi would keep quiet, who would have thought that Niyi wouldn't expose them but would have gone ahead to seduce Silas. She had heard a lot about Niyi. She was a national swimmer with awards and had even participated in a few international swimming competitions, there was no one who didn't know her.

In CUA, asides from being popular, various unconfirmed rumours had gone around that she liked to sleep with her friend's boyfriends and that was loose. Bimbo never believed them, it didn't matter because she didn't know Nyi and she knew better than to judge her but who would have thought that her paths with Niyi would have crossed and after all, those rumours were now unfounded anymore. When she saw the picture of Silas and Niyi kissing, Bimbo had been both dumbfounded and heart broken. She couldn't believe her eyes and what was happening. She descended the stairs to the pool and she could already hear laughter.

"It's not a big deal guys, the kiss was just a one time thing you know. Heat of the moment" Niyi's voice rang in the pool and Bimbo clenched her fist, annoyed. She knew that Niyi was definitely talking about the pictures.

"Heat of the moment Niyi?" she barked attracting attention as she stormed towards Niyi, "You see i've heard so many stories about you but who would have thought that they were true"

Niyi folded her arms and pursed her lips,"I know this isn't what I think it is" she said and Bimbo laughed angrily.

"What do you think it is?" she asked.

"Well, you caught your boyfriend kissing someone else, cheating and instead of holding him responsible, you are here to fight with the girl," Niyi explained and Bimbo gritted her teeth.

"You and I know that you are just someone who likes to take things and people who don't belong to you. You and I know that everything is your fault" Bimbo argued and Niyi laughed.

"Realy?" she asked, "It's my fault that Silas wanted to kiss me?" she asked again bursting into laughter as she turned to the other girls in the pool.

"Guys, i told you that it was a one time thing right?" she said and one of the girls nodded.

"Yeah" she replied. Niyi turned back to Bimbo.

"We all know you have a lousy taste, that's why you picked Silas over Jeremiah" she said furrowing her brow, "Still beats me though" she added shrugging.

"That's not the point Niyi, you seduced Silas" Bimbo argued and Niyi froze for a few seconds before bursting into laughter.

"Seduced silas? Me?" she asked laughing and shaking her head.

"Girl, if i wanted to seduce someone, I'll go for Jeremiah or Kitan or let me audacious" Niyi said, her voice going notches down, "King"

"That's my type not your washed down partner in cheating" Niyi said firmly and shame crawled up Bimbo's spine but she pretended not to be bothered.

"He's not my type so why would I seduce him, it's just in the heat of the moment you know, nothing serious. So don't sweat or make a big deal out of it" Niyi said as she patted Bimbo's shoulder.

Anger welled up inside Bimbo, how could this happen to her? How could Niyi speak to her in this manner? Why did Silas have to kiss this venom? For what reason? What heat of the moment?

"Heat of the moment?" Bimbo barked as she slapped Niyi's hand away and pushed her backwards.

"Heat of the moment? You knew he had someone and yet you went ahead and kissed him!" she yelled as she pushed Niyi again. Niyi scoffed as she also slapped Bimbo's hand away.
