Truth Be Told

"How was the drive back?" When Kris said the words to Nyles his face dropped and Anna had to bite back her laughter. She knew she needed to walk around the corner or she would break him before he could mess with Kris. As she leaned against the wall out of his sight, she could hear his words.

"Kris that was the most fucking awkward car ride I've ever fucking been in." He began. "Honestly was nothing but fucking silence and I couldn't take it.... So we got stopped in traffic...." Kris couldn't help the fact that she was leaning into her phone a knowing smile on her face. "I kissed her and she slapped me." Her mouth dropped at the words.

"She what?!" He sighed as he leaned against the wall playing it up. "I thought you said she almost kissed you?"

"She did.... But I don't know maybe I read it wrong. Like Kris it's honestly so fucked." His head hit the wall as he continued the act.

"But she.... You said.... What the fuck!" Kris was baffled and Anna who was listening couldn't take it anymore. As her laughter was heard she came around the corner grabbing Nyles face before she kissed him. "You fucking assholes!" They both laughed as they pulled away.

"No you're the asshole." He commented. "We know you talked to both of us." Kris rolled her eyes as she laughed.

"But it worked didn't it? Made you too idiots finally realize what we've all been saying all along.... Stubborn fuckers." The two laughed as Anna leaned into him. Kris could see a genuine smile appear along Nyles' lips at the action. "It's about fucking time though and you both know I'm happy for you. Just.... Take her on a good fucking first date Righty."

"That was years ago and we both agreed we'd never ever speak of that again...." Anna was looking between his phone and him.

"Wait what...." He turned red. "Oh you're telling me later." He groaned at the words before he looked at her. The second their eyes met she knew she had won.

"Have fun telling that story Righty." He shook his head groaning as he looked back at the phone.

"I hate you." He commented before Kris laughed.

"No you don't. But enjoy your night. I'm not saying a word to anyone I promise you both that. But if I don't hear that you took her on a date by the end of the weekend I'm going full Stuffy on you." Kris warned Nyles who was simply laughing.

"Yeah yeah I know you will. Night Kris." Before she could even respond he hung up the phone. When Anna looked up at him, he chuckled. "If I don't do that she'll be on the phone for another hour. Trust me. She doesn't see it as rude I promise. She does the same damn thing to me when I'm complaining about shit."

"Oh so you call her to complain too." He laughed.

"I call her first. When she hangs up, I call you." She laughed as she shook her head.

"Then you bitch until you fall asleep." He chucked and nodded.

"Yup. But now you've gotta deal with it in person." She groaned as she jokingly rolled her eyes.

"Oh damn...." The sarcasm was evident in her voice as her arms draped over his shoulders. "Wait...."

"What?" He asked as he could see a cheeky smile form along her lips. As she leaned into him, he could just about read her mind. "Oh fuck yes." A smirk appeared along her lips as she nodded.

"True fucking cuddles." He didn't even hesitate. His hands moved to grab her thighs just as she jumped. As her legs wrapped around him, her lips pressed to his cheek. "Why is this so fucking easy?" While she didn't mean to say the words out loud he had been thinking the exact same thing.

"Because we know everything about each other." She nodded at his response. When they arrived at her room he pushed the door open with his foot. She carefully slipped from his grasp before gently taking his hand. He didn't even hesitate to follow her into the room.

"Do you need to change?" She cautiously asked him.

"You care if I just take my jeans off?" Anna bit the inside of her cheek. While she had seen him many times before in his boxers there was something different about it now. "You know what.... Lemme change. You do the same. I'll get Navy out for the night then we can just chill and watch a movie or something." Her eyes met his just as a grateful smile appeared on her lips. "Bluejay.... I don't want to rush this. If you ever think I am, just say it. Not gonna make it awkward or make me mad. It's just about figuring out what the new normals gonna be because we're used to everything being different." Anna couldn't help the fact that she pulled him down to her height so she could connect their lips.

"You're fucking perfect." He laughed at her words as he carefully pulled away.

"You and I both know that's not true. But you get comfy I'll get Navy ready for the night while I do the same." She nodded before they separated. As he went to do as he said she slowly changed. She couldn't help the smile that was along her lips as she did. She was loving how comfortable it all was between them. They knew the ins and outs of the other and it made it that much easier. By the time she was fully changed into comfortable clothing she could hear Navy making her way into the room. "You good?" Anna couldn't help but laugh lightly at his words.

"You can come in Righty." He walked into the room before just about instantly collapsing into her bed.

"This thing is so fucking comfortable." He groaned as he laid face down across the bed.

"I know so move your big ass so we can both enjoy it." She said as she tried to move him out of the way. He laughed before moving so his back was against the headboard. She got in next to him, her back leaning against his chest. His arm loosely draped around her midsection as they both settled in. "Come on Navy." The large dog was instantly up and across the foot of the bed. "You say a word and you'll sleep in the other room." He was instantly laughing at her words.

"You think I care? She's just not spooning me. I'll fucking murder you with heat if she does." She leaned into him as she laughed. When her lips pressed to his cheek he couldn't help but turn his head and connect their lips. When his fingertips strayed along her jaw she melted into him. They were broken apart by Navy squeezing her way between their legs. "Alright now if she keeps doing that we're having words." He said as he looked at Navy.

"She's just used to it being only me." He chuckled softly, his lips lightly pressing to her shoulder as she leaned against him once more.

"How are your eyes?" When her hand came up and her fingertips began to run along his scalp he couldn't help that his head fell into her shoulder.

"A lot better now Righty. Just going to be a long while before I ever agree to that again." When his lips pressed against his cheek she melted into him.

"I'm sorry Bluejay. I tried to warn you." Her lips found their way to his.

"Honestly Righty don't worry about it. Like you said. It made it all better and really...." She paused as her eyes met his. "It was worth it."

"Wasn't worth seeing you in pain...." Her lips pressed to his.

"You're cute." She commented before he laughed.

"I'm far from it." Anna rolled her eyes.

"Righty you have no idea." Nyles chuckled his eyes meeting Anna's before he spoke honestly.

"Trust me Bluejay. The only cute one here is you."
