Author POV:

In the evening, Maanvi returned home utterly exhausted. As she stepped into the house, she spotted her parents-in-law, sitting comfortably on the sofa, enjoying a cup of tea and engaged in a lively conversation. Setting her bag down on the table, she made her way to the kitchen to pour herself a refreshing glass of water. Moments later, she joined her in-laws on the sofa, a sense of warmth and belonging washing over her.

Her mother-in-law, with a thoughtful expression, then suggested that she freshen up. She hinted at having some important news to share and mentioned that they were waiting for the rest of the family to gather before divulging it. Maanvi nodded with curiosity, her mind racing with possibilities, and headed upstairs to quickly freshen up, eager to hear the family's big announcement.

After freshening up, Maanvi made her way downstairs, plopping down on the sofa and switching on the TV. She found comfort in the familiar world of "Doraemon" as she awaited the family gathering. Just then, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law returned from work, and her mother-in-law instructed them to freshen up as well, emphasizing the importance of their upcoming dinner meeting.

As the minutes ticked by, the youngest member of the household, Ayaan, sneaked into the room. With all the stealth of a ninja, he positioned himself silently behind Maanvi and unleashed a sudden, ear-piercing "AHHHHH!" Maanvi, caught off guard, jumped out of her skin. Realizing it was Ayaan's prank, she swiftly chased after him. What followed was a chaotic and hilarious game of cat and mouse, reminiscent of Tom and Jerry. Pillows were thrown, furniture dodged, and laughter echoed throughout the house. Maanvi's in-laws watched with amusement, for such playful antics were a daily occurrence in their lively household. Ayaan, being the youngest, often took the role of the prankster, keeping everyone on their toes and filling the home with joy and laughter.

"Ayaan ke bachhe, main tujhe aaj chhodungi nahi, ruk ja tu," Maanvi exclaimed with playful annoyance, hurling a pillow in Ayaan's direction. Unfortunately, he displayed impressive agility, dodging the projectile with a mischievous grin. Instead, the pillow found an unexpected target, landing squarely on Aarav's face.

Ayaan, now partially obscured by the cushion, laughed heartily and teased, "Arre bhabhi, pehle nishana toh barabar lagao na! Dekho bhai ko lag gaya na." His playful banter added to the cheerful chaos that had taken over the house, and Maanvi couldn't help but join in the laughter, even as she made another attempt to catch Ayaan in their ongoing game of tag.

After the exhilarating pillow fight, the family members settled down in the living room, ready to catch up on each other's day. They shared stories of their daily events, from work challenges to funny anecdotes from their respective lives. Laughter and camaraderie filled the air as they bonded over these conversations, reinforcing the strong family bonds that defined their home.

As dinner time approached, Maanvi and Ritu made their way to the kitchen to prepare a delicious meal for the family. They worked in harmony, chopping vegetables, simmering sauces, and filling the kitchen with tantalizing aromas. Their culinary collaboration was a testament to the unity and cooperation that characterized the household.

Finally, as everyone gathered around the dining table, anticipation hung in the air. Maanvi's mother-in-law cleared her throat, signaling that it was time for the important news to be revealed. The room fell silent, and all eyes turned to her, waiting eagerly for the revelation that had been teased earlier in the evening. The dinner table, once a place of joyous conversation and shared meals, was now the stage for a significant announcement that would undoubtedly shape the family's future.

"Humare paas aap sab ke liye 2 news hain, khaas kar ek news Maanvi ke liye toh achhese suno sab log," Pooja announced, her tone hinting at something significant.

Maanvi, her curiosity piqued and a hint of worry in her voice, asked, "Mere liye, kya hua hai, Aai?"

Pooja continued, "Kuch nahi beta, pehli baat toh ye hai ki tumhare liye ek rishta aaya hai." As the words left her lips, the room seemed to hold its breath. Maanvi, with a visible expression of resistance, knew exactly where this was headed.

Ignoring the first piece of news royally, Maanvi questioned, "Aur dusri baat kya hai?"

"Manu beta, ignore mat karo, woh achhe log hain," Ravi chimed in, attempting to pacify the situation. Maanvi shot him a skeptical glance that seemed to say, "Seriously, Baba?"

Pushing further, Maanvi asked, "Aur dusri baat kya hai?"

Pooja hesitated briefly before saying, "Kal bua ji aane wali hain." She closed her eyes momentarily, knowing all too well the mixed reactions her sister-in-law's arrival would evoke. Bua ji had a reputation for her difficult behavior, and nobody in the family relished her visits.

"WHATTT?" The collective reaction from everyone in the room was one of sheer shock, their voices rising in unison. The news of Bua ji's impending arrival had certainly stirred the family into a whirlwind of emotions and anticipation.

"Hello Rahul, I'm coming to stay there for a few days, yeah, tomorrow," Ayan announced over the phone with enthusiasm.

"Aai, I'm going to be home for a few days," Ritu added. But amid all this, Maanvi couldn't help but wear a puzzled and slightly melancholic expression, wondering where she'd fit into the situation.

Ravi, sensing the tension in the room, tried to pacify everyone. "Why is everyone behaving like this, my sister is coming, guys. If we all leave, how will it be?"

However, the rest of the family couldn't hide their discomfort. Aarav chimed in, "Well, Baba, if we all stay, she's bound to find some way to disrupt the peace of the house."

Ravi was quick to respond, "No, this time, nothing will happen. Shalini's wedding has been finalized, and I'm her uncle, so Seema is coming tomorrow to discuss the engagement date. The groom's family will also be visiting our house. She won't get a chance to create any trouble. So, the discussion ends here. No one is going anywhere; I need everyone at home tomorrow. Do you all understand?"

The family members grumbled but ultimately nodded their heads in agreement, saying, "Okay, Baba."

After dinner, as the rest of the family retired to their respective rooms, Ravi stopped Maanvi and requested her to join him in the study room. Curious, Maanvi agreed and followed him to the study, wondering what important matter he wanted to discuss.

A gentle knock on the door interrupted their conversation, and Ravi called out, "Come in." To Maanvi's surprise, it was her father who entered the room, seemingly engrossed in a pile of files and paperwork. As their eyes met, Ravi motioned for Maanvi to take a seat beside him, indicating that they needed to discuss something of significance. The atmosphere in the room was filled with anticipation, and Maanvi couldn't help but wonder about the nature of the discussion that had brought them together in this quiet, dimly lit study.

"Manu beta, why are you not ready to marry again?" Ravi gently probed, concern etched on his face.

"Because, Baba, I'm already married," Maanvi replied, her voice carrying a touch of sadness.

"Beta, Arjun is no longer in this world. You should consider moving forward, and I believe that's what Arjun would want for you too," Ravi earnestly suggested.

"No, Baba. Love happens once, and marriage is a part of that love story. So what if he left me in the middle of life's journey? I will complete this journey with the memories of him by my side. My final decision is that I won't get married again," Maanvi declared firmly, her resolve unwavering.
