chapter 1

Elena's pov

Beep. Beep. Beep
I'm woken up to the sound of my alarm going of I check the time to see it's 4.30am so I have to get up and get ready. i shower, get dressed,and cover all my visible bruises from my foster parents because apparently I'm a brat for wanting to get water for Lia , but I'm fine as long as it's me and not Lia .I go downstairs to make breakfast so I don't get beat again.when I'm done it's now 6am so I go to get Lia up before the foster parents.i go in her room to find her peasfully sleeping .

''lia"I said

"Lia" I repeated

"What" she asked sqwinting her eyes

"You need to get up so we can go before they see us and make a reason to try and beat us come on" I explained

"Fine I'm coming" she said getting out of bed .

so knowing she's up I left to call my best friend his name is Nick and we've been friends for eight years we met in a bad situation but weve been best friend ever since and I would do anything for him.hes the only other person except my sister I show emotions to the rest of the world only no me as a girl with a stone heart or the police stations they all know me.i got my phone to call him and he picked up after a few rings.

"Hello" he asked

"Hey"I said

"Elena I don't have to bail you of again do I" he half jokes and half serious.i know all the cops in the city I got erested that many times they just love me too mush to keep me away.

"No not yet I just wanted to call to ask when my next fight is" I asked

"Ok well it's tonight,you ok they didn't do anything did they" he asked

"Nothing I can't handle or that hasent happened a thousand times before" I said

"What happens this time?" He questioned

"I needed to get some water for Lia but apparently I'm a brat for getting water"I explained

"Why don't you just leave them? I mean your rich you could go and money's not the problem so what is?" He asked

"I've told you before if we get cought we could get split up and Id rather take all the beating in the world then get split up so that's what I'm gonna,I'm fine as long as she doesn't have to go through the pain I have" I told him

"Ok Elena just be careful " he said

"I always am" I said

Lia started coming out of her room so I told Nick I'll call him later so we're not late for school.
"ready" I asked she nodded and we went downstairs and out the door.

when we got to school it's the usual Lia went to her friends and everyone was scared of me my only friend is Nick and he doesn't go to this school .I walk to My English class 20 minutes late and lit on the back but before I could put my head down I hear the intercome

" Elena and Lia Carter to the principals office " I got and started walking to my second home because I'm there so often but I wonder why Lia's there she never gets in trouble .

I walk in with ought knocking on the door and there 2 men but I egnor them

"What's up frank" I asked the principal sitting down

"I didn't think you would figure out it was me who spray painted tho school this early" I said

"That was you " he asked

"No " I said trying to think of what he wants

"What do you want " I ask again

"We should wait for your sister" he said and then Lia walking in looking nervous she's never been in trouble before

"Hello " she said taking a seat I look at the men still there and notice guns in there waistband suspicious

"Girls I'm sorry to tell you your forter mother and father died in a car accident this morning " he said with pitty in his eyes
I don't say anything I could care less but Lia cares about everyone so she started crying.

I turn to the principal and said " so what does this mean for us back in the Forster sistem " I asked he looked shoked and scared of how I don't care he then said " no actualy we found out you have a mother and father and brothers

"That can't be true" I said

"Yes it is you were kidnapped when you was a baby they finally found you these men will take you too them " he said pointing to the men.

I look to Lia and ask if that's what she wants she nods so I stood up and said " I'm not going anywhere with them men I am very capable on my own so I'll let you Lia go but I'm not going I can live on my own " I said and went to walk to the door .

but the men walk up and stop me so I kick one where the sun don't shine and broke the others arm after trying to grab my arm

I turn to Lia and said " I'll check on you and make shore your always safe but I can't live with them " she nodded understanding and I left on my motorbike I started driving to nicks house,well my house he just lives there, Ill stay there but then I spot people following me and take a detore escaping them just in time so nobody will find me I got to my house he asked why I was staying her and after I told him what happened he understood why I didn't go and why I Lia go because he knows I would do anything to make her happy Lia and Nick are the only people I care about and show emotions to so after he got cought up we started doing background searches and I Found out that they where the Italian Mafia and Lia went to Italy,but one thing that makes me feel better is that if It ever comes I'm more powerful than then and can take then down .But I just hope

I can stay hidden.
