I walked down the sidewalk with my crew as paparazzi followed. It's hot, I'm not understanding why they wanna be in my face
Today, I'm leaving for the start of the new basketball season. I'm ready to cook up on the court and win for my team.
"It's going on twelve, we gotta hurry up " I spoke out loud so that everybody could hear me
"Flau'jae how do you balance being away from home and basketball?" one of the men asked while coming closer with his camera
I pushed his camera back before hearing Des laugh a little from behind me. These people will literally invade your privacy if you let them.
"I'm always a call, drive, or flight away" I said keeping my answer simple before another guy approached me
"Can you tell us about your private life?" he asked before I shook my head 'no'
"No, but y'all make sure y'all go get my album"
I spotted my driver and was relieved because I'm in a rush. I'm behind schedule and it's irritating me a little
After my interview, we stayed and talked longer. I didn't realize that time went by, and now it's backfiring
"Flau'jae" I heard one of them call before I ignored him, "Flau'jae the fans want to know — Is Angel having an affair?"
I held up my left hand and put my ring in the camera. Like huh?
"No more questions" I said while approaching the truck and opening the door
Everybody got in the truck before we made our way to my house. Luckily, I packed everything prior to today so I don't have to worry about that
Walking through the front double doors, we came face to face with Angel.
"What you doing?" I asked confused at what she had going on
"Your location said that you were here, I missed you" she said before I chuckled and shook my head
"You gotta stop watching my location, and I only been gone for a few hours"
"It don't matter" she said before I hummed in response, "Hey mama Kia, hey everybody"
They all started talking before I walked off going upstairs. I made my way into my closet and started grabbing hats.
As I grabbed hats Angel came walking in
"Don't be tryna sneak up on me" I said while pulling her closer by her waist before our lips met
"I thought you was in our room, I was looking for you" she said before I shook my head 'no'
"I came to get a few hats"
I started grabbing other stuff before leaving out with Angel on my trail. She's only following me around because I'm getting ready to go.
I made my way back downstairs with the hats before sitting them by the door.
"I'm hungry" I announced while walking in the kitchen, "I need to eat again"
"You want me to cook something?" Angel asked from behind me before I snickered
She gonna do everything in her power for me to not leave. This is the part that I hate about leaving, it's never easy.
"The sprinter outside now, they pulled up the same time as me. I'm not gone have time to wait for it to finish"
"Okay" she said in a despondent voice and my heart began to cry, "Just make sure you eat something"
"Oh, you know I'm gone eat" I said while opening the refrigerator, "You know how I do"
I grabbed a Gatorade before closing it back. Making my way to the pantry with her still behind me, I started grabbing snacks.
After finishing up everybody walked me out the house. They helped put my suitcases in before we said our goodbyes
Everybody else went in before Angel stayed. Of course the tears came running. She wouldn't be her if she didn't cry.
"I'll call you as soon as I settle in tonight" I said while hugging her and she nodded
"What time is that?"
"I don't know, we got some stuff going on soon as I get there" I told her before she just sighed loudly
"Okay"
"I gotta go baby, can I go?" I asked while looking at the time on my watch, "I'm already running behind"
Time is ticking.
"No" she said while hugging me tighter
Even though I'm running behind, I stayed to comfort her. I don't care, I just hate to see her cry and I'm gone miss her too.
That's my baby.
After a while, I finally got her to go back inside. I got in the sprinter and left before making it to Henderson, Nevada.
I play for the Las Vegas Aces, I love everything about it. Just being able to stretch my basketball career further is amazing
"The biggest four is here" I yelled while walking in the locker room, "Home sweet home"
"As expected, you are late" my teammate, Ria said before I shrugged
"Flau'jae's always late and never coming" my other teammate, Corinne said causing us to laugh
"No, I had an interview this morning and got back late. On top of that, I had to console my wife — she wouldn't let me go"
"Oh damn, I know you hated that cause I would've. Aw" Ria said before making a sad face and I chuckled
"I know, I hate when we gotta part ways but she good now. I promised her some play time, she straight"
"Ohh shit" Kyah chimed in before everybody started laughing, "It's finna go down next time y'all see each other"
"Happy wife, happy life" I said before me and Kyah dapped each other up
Kyah and I are the only ones on the team who are lesbian. Half of the shit that we be talking about don't make sense to everyone else
It's cool tho.
"It's mandatory" she said as I nodded agreeing
After getting ourselves together, it was time for us to meet up with our coaches. I love being here, it just makes me so happy.
Everybody is so loving and supportive, it feels like home. We're definitely a one hit wonder — untouchable.
