Sam's POV:

Ever since last night when Katrina shouted at me and I cut myself I've just been staying in my room i didn't wanna bother her in any way possible. That was until she threw open my door I panicky stood up.
"Jesus I'm going out I don't want anyone over until I'm back I want dinner dont for 8pm when I get back. The house needs to be clean also so does my room it's a mess NO ONE over" she said walking out.
I just wanted to cry and just breakdown but I cried enough last night I don't have any tears left to spare. I wanted to call Colby and invite him over but I can't.
I out my headphones in and listened to music while cleaning then I heard the door opened. I took my headphones out and looked behind me. "Hey Sam" Colby smiled it made me smile but then I remember what Katrina said "Hey Colby why are you here?" I said awkwardly.
"Is this a bad time to be here?" He asked feeling bad I smiled "No no I just wasn't expecting you to be here" I laughed. "Where's Katrina?" He asked "oh she went to help a friend with moving" I told him cleaning up" he just hummed.
I could feel his presence behind me "Do you need help with anything?" He asked "No I'm good don't worry" I told him. I could feel my cheeks heat up by how close he was to me. No Sam your straight and you have a girlfriend. I reminded myself moving away from him.
"Did I do somethin?" He asked while eating cookies, "no sorry I'm just trying to clean" I told him. "Sam maybe you should take a break?" He suggested I froze "No I can't I have to make everything perfect for Katrina" I said.
He grabbed my arms and made me look at him, "Sam please take a break...we haven't hung out unless we've been at school". Colby said taking my arm I sighed deeply. "I know and I'm sorry..." I said I had no clue what else to say to him.
"Okay...we're definitely hanging out tomorrow with the group right?" He asked sitting on the chair. "Yeah of course!" I said sitting next to him he just smiled and went on his phone.
I got up and started cleaning more until Katrina walked through the door. I froze. "SAM. Oh hello Colby!" She said changing the tone of her voice going over to him.
He shot me a look and I just walked away and went up to my room.

Colby's POV

I shot Sam a look because Katrina sounded really mad and when she saw me she just changed her voice. Sam turned away and walked to him room this really makes me question their relationship.
I don't mind Katrina but if she's hurting my best friend then I don't wanna know her at all. Like I'm sorry but you can hurt my best friend then want me to know you?
I just ignored it but not completely there were times when Kat was talking to me and I'd just zone out about all the bad things that would happen.
"Colby!" She said shaking me I snapped out of my trance and looked at her. She cupped my cheek "Your really pretty you know that right?" She said smiling looking me in the eyes.
I moved her hand away and she looked at me shocked. "Listen your Sam's girlfriend okay? Not mine he loves you so continue you relationship with him" I told her she smiled. "But he's useless you so much better than him~" she slurred.
I hated this "Katrina don't say stuff like that he tries his hardest just for you he's not useless once you learn how to love people who love you back then you'll understand how great he is" I told her she just made a disgusted face.
"Alright fineeee I won't say it again can we continue talking?" She said laughing at the end. "Sure let me just go check up on Sam alright?" I said she sighed.
I walked up to Sam's room and saw him crying on the bed. As soon as he saw me he stood up and wiped his eyes plastering a smile.
I walked over to him and he flinched then just looked at me. "Hey...why are you crying?" I asked he looked down "I'm not" he mumbled, I could tell me was because his face was all red.
I Just grabbed him and pulled him into a hug. "Colby?" I heard Kat call she walked into the room and just stood there shocked. Sam pulled away from me and just looked at her.
"Colby are you coming down? It's been 4 minutes" she said smiling innocently. Sam looked panicked like he was gonna go into a panic attack any second.
"Yeah I'm comin now" I said she walked out and I just looked at Sam. "I'm sorry..." he said "Listen...please don't be sorry it's okay I'll come check on you..." I said going downstairs.
As I walked out his room I realised I can't just leave him there what kind of friend would I be if I just leaved him there?!
I opened the door again and locked it then hugged him right. "A-aren't you meant to b-be with Kat..?" He asked as he voice cracked from crying.
"No it's okay I'm here with you" I mumbled into his hair. I wanted to cry. He's going through so much I can tell and I don't know anything. Maybe it's nothing? Maybe it's just something personal? I don't know...
"I'm fine Colby just got some bad news that a family member died it's alright" he spoke. I felt so stupid I worried for no reason. I laughed and then stopped.
"I'm sorry Sam I wasn't laughing at that I swear I was laughing at myself because I thought Katrina was doing something like a toxic relationship was going on. Is there anything I can do to help you?" I asked he tensed up as soon as I said Katrina. "No no it's alright" he spoke.

Sam's POV

Katrina came up and busted the door open "Colby your mom just called me you gotta get home" Katrina said. Colby looked at me and hugged me "Bye Sam see ya tomorrow!" He said leaving.
As soon as he left Katrina stared at me. "So your fucking cheating?! Sam I fucking caught you try and fucking defend yourself?!" She didn't shout but she raised her voice. "YOU WERE FUCKING HUGGING HIM YOU CHEATED" she started screaming. I flinched at the sound of her voice.
"ALSO I SAID NOT TO INVITE ANYONE OVER!" She screamed "Although it was Colby and he's so much better than you. I mean he has the perfect body,perfect voice,his skin is soft and I have a thing for Emo boys" she said rolling her eyes.
"Then there's you. Anyway THE HOUSE ISNT CLEAN AND YOU INVITED HIM OVER WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!" She bellowed. "YOU KNOW WHAT GET OUT I CANT DEAL WITH YOU ANYMORE" she told me pointing to the door.
I left but I didn't know where to go she just kicked me out of my own house.
My breathing started to get heavier the more colder it got. I started rocking back and forth as I tried to calm myself down but nothing worked I just choked on air.
I soon Just felt my body go numb and just blacked out.

Colby's POV:

I was walking from the shops and saw someone familiar laying on the floor. I walked over and saw it was Sam. I gasped and picked him up he didn't weigh much but he felt really underweight. I carried him to my house "Dear what happened is he okay?!" My mom said panicked I didn't know what to say. "I'll come down and talk in a second" I told her she just nodded.
I carried Sam upstairs and laid him on the bed then pulled the blankets over him. I closed the door then went downstairs to my mom.
We both sat down at the table and I put my head in my hands. "Dear..." she said I looked at her "What's on your mind?" My mom asked "I'm worried about Sam's health I'm scared really scared. He feels so underweight and he don't eat at school and I'm just scared he's my best friend and I don't want him to leave me..." I explained with tears rolling down my face.
My mom just cuddled me "Baby I'm sure he'll be okay and have you tried telling him this?" She asked me I sighed. "No but he's always busy no matter if it's cleaning the house or doing something for Katrina he's never taking a break. Even at school he has the hardest work compared to all of us" I told her.
Even she looked worried. "Well...let's just see what happens okay don't overthink dear okay?" She said I smiled and nodded.
I'm glad my mom understands she may be a single mother but she's an amazing one if that was my dad he would've just told me to man up.
