Today, it snowed.

Usually I would be out in the cold, throwing snowballs.

Instead, I was trying to work out how to tell them. One at a time would be best. I nweed to find a way to corner them, and tell them.

I clomped down the stairs to find the common room empty.

Where is everyone?

"They've gone to Hogsmead. You should get downstairs, hand your slip in. Then you'll be able to go as well."

I turned around to see Harry sitting morusly by the fireplace.

"Slip?"

"You know, the one delivered over the holiday. Legal guardians permission to go. The Durslys wouldn't sign mine, so I can't go. But you can. Off you go."

"Umm, I don't know what your talking about, but I don't have a Legal Guardian, remember. Street kid. Remember?"

He brightened up. "Oh yeah, I forgot that."

"Now, Do you want a snowball fight, or do I have to find the twins?"

"You don't have to find us!" Speak of the devil.

"Whats this about a snowball fight?"

"Arn't you going to Hogsmead?"

"No slip."

"Why?"

"Legal Guardian."

They looked confused.

"Street kid. And Harry's legal Guardians ban him from having fun."

"Oh."

"Yeah."

There was an akward silence.

"Well, we'll be off then."

"Bring you back some sweets!"

And they dashed out of the room.

This was my chance.

Everyone had gone to Hogsmead, wherever that was,

I could tell Harry.

I walked over to the fireplace, and sat down in a big armchair.

Harry had his head down.

"Harry..."

"Jane..."

"I have somthing to tell you."

I twisted my hands in my lap, suddenly nervous. What if he hated me?

"I- Wait. First, promise you won't hate me."

"Hate you? I would never-"

"Just promise, OK?" I looked up at him, pleading with my eyes.

He sighed. "Promise. I won't hate you. Now, whats this all about?"

I looked down at my lap, not able to meet his eyes. "I'm- I'm not- I'm not entirely human."

"What?" He was frowning in confusion.

"I'm an Elder Dragon." I held my breath, waiting for his response.

Silence. I peeked through my hair to see his reaction. He looked confused, but not angry. I let out a breath I didn't realise I'd been holding.

"I thought they were all gone, apart from Hagrids friend."

"Guess Voldy missed one in his mass extinction."

Silence again.

"Who else knows?"

"Umm, Hermione, Hagrid, Dumbledore.."

"Hermione knew?" A bit of anger entered his voice.

"I asked her not to tell."

 Silence.

"Sooo, do you hate me?"

"No, I don't hate you."

I looked up in suprise.

"I wish you had told me sooner."

I shrugged. "I thought you would hate me."

"You're thinking of Malfoy."

I smiled.

"I don't hate you. You're just... different."

"Yep. Ain't nobody else in this place with wings."

"Yeah, about that..."

"What?" I arched an eyebrow.

"You'll have to explain everything to me. I don't know much about Elders."

"Sure. I'd be glad to."
