Falling almost 700 feet wasn't nice, she was less sure but wasn't one hundred per cent sure that the water wouldn't flatten her like a pancake, no matter who her father was.
The river raced towards her at the speed of a truck, or she raced towards the river at the speed of a truck, Nerissa couldn't tell. She shut her eyes as she hit the water. But the impact hadn't hurt, instead she settled on the river bottom soundlessly.
Nerissa looked around until she saw Percy looking as if he was about to have a heart attack at the bottom of the Mississipi River, his foot stuck in a branch. She swam over to him, he jerked and quickly turned his head around when he felt her hand on his shoulder, she nodded to him and he quickly shook his head, "Just breathe." Nerissa told him, "You're fine...come on."
She smiled when she saw Percy breathe, "Not the nicest place I've swam in but it's fine." she moved down and kicked the branch that his foot was stuck in
When his foot was clear, Nerissa pushed up off of the river bed and swam for the surface, Percy copying her seconds later, "My mom appeared." Percy said as they came up to the surface
"I'm sorry what?" Nerissa asked
They waded to the shore looking very strange, they had both just come from the Mississippi River yet Nerissa was completely dry, Percy not so much. Nobody paid much attention to them as the main event was the gaping hole in the side of the Gateway Arch.
Walking around the crowd of people, watching every camera, they ducked and weaved through the crowd, Nerissa in front, Percy keeping ridiculously close to her, every time Nerissa turned around he was centimetres away from crashing straight into her. She knew that Grover and Annabeth were around somewhere
The pair stopped walking when they saw Annabeth and Grover standing a few meters in front of them on the dock. Annabeth walked towards them and to Nerissa's surprise she hugged Percy...but it made sense.
Grover then bombarded Nerissa, "Easy. I'm fine." Nerissa laughed hugging the Satyr back
"She told me to jump off the deck." Percy said when he pulled away from Annabeth
