Eyes met.

He smiled at you.

Against your will, you felt butterflies in your stomach, and a strange attraction to this mysterious man.

His shoes clacked against the concrete streets of Paphos as he, dressed in black and white, and his female partner, dressed in pink, danced together with a few other pairs, dressed just like the two of them. Music and singing filled the air as they displayed their choreographed routine of a traditional dance to the crowd of curious tourists and locals in front of them, the former of which were eagerly clapping and taking photos.

While he was supposed to be looking at his partner, he kept looking at you instead. He had short brown hair, with a long lock that framed one side of his face. From the distance, you could see that he had light green eyes, the color of pistachios, upturned, almond shaped. He was a very attractive fellow and you were immediately taken in by him.

He looked in your direction again and smiled. Your eyes darted around, now unsure whether or not he really was looking at you. You looked elsewhere until the dance finished, resisting the urge to meet the lovely green eyes of the dancing stranger.

The dance ended and they bowed while the crowd applauded. No sooner did the man stand up straight, he unmistakably looked straight at you, a gentle smile tugging his lips.

More butterflies.

The crowd dispersed and the dance group went away. But you lingered nearby, curious about the green-eyed dancer. Even as he was with his group, he kept glancing your way.

Unable to handle the flurry of butterflies he was giving you, you busied yourself by buying a snack.

"Excuse me?" you heard a voice behind you.

Quickly turning back, you saw none other than the green-eyed dancer standing in front of you, smiling but looking a little red-cheeked. You felt your heart jump at the sight of him.

"Hey," he greeted in Greek, a little shyly, "My name is Andreas. What's yours?"

You blushed, realising you could only understand him, but not answer. Having lived most of your time on the Turkish side of Cyprus, you only knew a little Greek. Andreas, immediately noticing that you struggled to answer him, immediately took action.

"Can you speak Turkish?" he asked in Turkish.

You beamed. "Yes!" And with eagerness, you introduced yourself, "I'm ____."

Andreas, smiling, asked, "I saw you watching the dance. Did you like it?"

"It was amazing. You dance so well." You smiled back at him.

He paused for a moment to look at your smile, and he seemed, for a split second, mesmerised and lost for words. When he regained himself, he asked,

"Are you not from here?" he asked, as the two of you were currently on the Greek side of Cyprus, the south.

"No, I live in the north, in Güzelyurt. I just came here to visit my friend." you explained, "Are you from here?"

"Yeah, I live in this area actually. My dance group lives around here too." he replied. He paused for a moment and then proposed with a great smile, "Would you like me to show you around? I've been a guide to many of my foreign friends."
