What's more tragic?
Learning the art of letting go,
Or craving to be held..

The curse of being forgetful,
Or the fear of being constantly reminded,
of a truth that you'll have to accept?

To live in a paradox that haunts you,
Or to drown in a reality that aches?

Hope trembled against the cold wall of the cell for what felt like hours on end, she had no idea what the time was and how long it would be before dawn. She had no idea how to release herself as the cell was specifically designed to keep creatures like her at bay, and also fucking Penelope had casted a spell on the room so screaming her way out for help was not an option anymore.
She was basically trapped and had to endure it all.
Tears had dried on her cheeks,
her stomach still unsettled from the alcohol she had consumed.

The pain was still fresh on those wounds formed on her delicate skin.
Hope could use a distraction anytime now.
Anything.
Anything to make her forget, for just a split second that..
she didn't deserve any of this.

"I'm certain you could use some company."

A familiar voice whispered lowly in the darkness. In the distance Hope recognized the figure of the brunette approaching the cell slowly and hesitantly, Josie knew that if she was caught doing this that would immediately be casted as betrayal. Towards her friends, her sister, her own blood.

"How-How did you find me?"

"I warned you..
To not go back there.
I tried."

"You knew."
"You fucking knew and you didn't tell me!!"

"I'm not the one you should be angry with.
They're my friends, Hope."

"You broke up with Penelope, because she was using you and now you're on her side?
That's fucked up."

"I'm not on anyone's side.."

"Release me then."

"No, no I can't."
"If you get out of this they will just come after you again..and again..
Until they are satisfied.
You have to carry out the punishment and make it look like they won."

"Looks like you're one of them, then.
I don't know why I was expecting you'd be different."

Josie sighed, she reminded herself not to get angry with Hope and her beliefs, it wasn't her fault that everything led her to believe that Josie was in on this twisted plan. She decided to sit on the ground right next to her from the opposite side of the cell, bringing her knees closer to her chest. Another sigh escaped her lips.

"What are you doing?"

"Maybe staying here would change your mind about me."

"You don't have to pity me, Saltzman.
I'll be fine on my own.
I've always been."

"You didn't have to shut us off, you know.
My sister and I.
Maybe if you made yourself more approachable none of this would have happend."
