Gia heard Nicole giggle. That giggle. She froze. Her mouth pulled up in disgust and she grabbed her hoodie off of her bed and started running out the apartment. She jumped between feet as she pulled on her sneakers.

She fumbled for her keys and pulled open the door. Gia only allowed herself to stop when she was at the building's main entrance. She took her phone out of her pocket and opened Chris' chat.
"Leaving the house now, see you in a few x" she typed. Chris replied almost instantly with a blushing face emoji. Gia hailed a taxi and slid onto the back seat. She thought back to her conversation with Chris the night before. It was a short and simple one. Gia had simply expressed that she had misunderstood what Chris was implying. He laughed gently on the other side of the phone and invited her to Central Park to see the art show.
Gia sunk into the leather of the seats and cursed her claw clip as it pushed against her head. She unclipped her curls and placed the clip on top of her head, she often did this at home to keep her bangs back or in car rides to avoid the pain. I'll redo my hair when I arrive. She thought.

Chris was already waiting for her when she arrived at the park. He waved at her happily, a warm smile spread across his fave. Gia felt her heart jump in her chest and her cheeks burning, she dropped her eyes to the floor to hide her face from him. Chris let out a hearty laugh and threw his hand over his chest as he approached Gia. Gia felt her ears burning now too. Could he see her blushing? Is that why he was laughing? Gia started to feel nervous. She wanted the world fo swallow her whole.
