Part 33
***
You enjoyed about a day in your temporary home before it was time to leave again to attend Tony's funeral. It was being held at his house in the woods by the lake. Happy, Tony's bodyguard and close friend, had made arrangements to have a jet come pick you all up. It would be arriving within the hour.Currently, everyone was getting ready. You were looking at yourself in the bathroom mirror, adjusting the black dress you wore. It was stretchy and not the most flattering thing, but it was also the only dress that currently fit. Clint stood next to you, fiddling with trying to get this black necktie on. He mumbles curses under his breath as he untied it.
"Here, let me." You chuckle, turning him to face you. "After all those undercover missions and you still don't know how to do this." You tease, managing to tie it with practiced ease.
Clint huffs softly. "Never had to do it myself. Always had someone else to do it for me." He gives you a cheeky smile and gives your hip a soft squeeze.
You roll your eyes a bit, but still smile softly. You honestly liked helping him with his tie. You finish up and pat it down flat against his shirt. "There. Have a look."
Clint turns to the mirror, looking over your handiwork. "Looks good. Thanks, honey." He presses a kiss to the top of your head and then squeezes past you to go into your shared room. "I'm gonna go make some coffee. I'm so tired. Do you want any?"
"Clint, you know I can't have coffee." You sigh, patting your belly softly. "Pregnant. Remember?"
"You can have a small cup. It's not gonna hurt." He reasons, waiting for you by the door to see if you'll go downstairs with him.
"You make it way too strong. I'll be a lethal dose just by smelling the stuff you make." You complain, joining him anyway and walking to the kitchen with him.
"It's not that strong. You're being dramatic." He claims as you roll your eyes. You really weren't being dramatic. The stuff he drank was horrible.
"If you make me a weaker batch first, then yes. I'll have a small cup." True was, you were equally as exhausted. Saving the world, growing a baby, recovering in the hospital, and trying to adjust to your new living space. It was a lot. You thought being in the new house you'd be able to get good rest. But that just hadn't been the case.
The first night back, no one slept well. Both because it was an unfamiliar place but also because no one wanted to sleep. The kids were all still a little scared about everything that happened, and Clint wanted to be around his kids. So he didn't force any of them to go to bed. Instead, he sat on the living room couch with them until the very early hours of the morning. Once they'd all fallen asleep, Clint carried each kids back to their rooms and then the two of you retired for the night.
The second night back wasn't much better. Everyone went to bed earlier due to the funeral being the next day, but that didn't mean everyone slept well. You were having trouble getting comfortable during the nights due to your pregnancy. Clint was up from your restlessness, and the one time he did get to sleep, he had a nightmare and woke up shortly after.
So, needless to say, you and Clint were exhausted. At least the kids looked like they'd managed to get more sleep than you.
Lila was at the dinner table in the kitchen, scrolling on her phone. As you and Clint entered the kitchen, he gave the top of her head a kiss as he passed her.
