First they went to the lion kingdom. And asked Queen Star for help. She agreed to keep River safe in her palace. As they went to the cheetah kingdom. King Redtail agreed to join them. And the alliance was made.

Lightning and his siblings would fight in the battle too. It would be their first time. And as the fastest big cats in the four kingdoms. The cheetah's job was to distract the Shadow Beasts and make a diversion. The lions would go all in. And try to overpower the shadow beasts.
"Are you ready son?" King Redtail asked.
"Yes father, I'm ready," Lightning said and followed him to inspect their army.
The first division was made of the fastest cheetahs. The second was the strongest. And the third, fourth, and fifth divisions were back up. Everything was almost ready. Just one more days until battle.

When the sun rose on the horizon. The cheetahs and lions met at the border of the jungle. Then they advanced. The first cheetah division and first and second lion division headed towards the leopard jungle. While the others lay in wait.
Lightning was part of the division. He and the cheetahs attacked the Shadow Beasts. Shooting lightning at them. The beasts roared and were eliminated. But others came. The lions attacked the Shadow Beasts. Jumping on them and clawing and biting them. Then the cheetahs would shoot lightning at them. Before retreating.
In the tiger's part of the jungle. The rest of the army spotted a group of Shadow beasts led by Arkclaw. Fury boiled up inside Witherstripe. He leaped out and tackled Arkclaw. Digging his claws into him.
"Traitor! You let them kill my mother!" he raored.
"You foolish prince! You should have known all along but you didn't. The Shadow Beasts that attacked us that one time. I had summoned them. And they should have killed you! But I changed my mind, and decided to make the kingdoms fight. Then when the tigers were at its weakest, my master and his army came." Arkclaw said.
"You...you started this?! You?!" The Shadow Beasts circled the two tigers. Hungry for battle and big cat flesh. But Arkclaw growled at them to stay back.
Three cheetahs ran out and electrocuted the beasts. Making them run.
"Don't let them escape!" hissed Prince Stormcloud. He and the cheetahs chased after the Shadow Beasts.
"What are you going to do? Kill me?! Ha! That's impossible," Arkclaw laughed.
Witherstripe raised his paw and vines dropped from the claws. They tied around Arkclaw's neck and muzzle. He jumped off his former mentor and watched him try and escape. As the vines tied around his paws.
"Go to the temple!" The prince ordered the divisions. "I'll take care of him."
