Though the Doctor doesn't want to, he grasps Cherry by her arm and forcefully pulls her along with him. He cringes when Cherry cries out and curses at him, hitting his arm with her hand as he drags her through the forest. Her foot catches on a tree root, and she falls forward into him and whines in pain. "I'm sorry."

"Take me back, Doctor," Cherry doesn't accept his apology, trying desperately to rip her arm out of his grip. She looks into his eyes pleadingly. "Please, let me go!"

"Can't, it's not safe," the Doctor admits to her.

"Which means it's not safe for Amy, either!"

"I know, and I'm sorry, but we have to go," the Doctor carries on dragging her through the forest, drowning out her protests and ignoring her attempts to escape until they're a good distance away, and he finally releases her.

"I'm going back," she stands up tall, straightening her clothes and turning to leave, but River stops her.

"You can't," River tells her, holding her shoulders with an apologetic look on her face. "You'll never make it back alive, there's too many Angels, and you'll be too vulnerable alone."

"I don't care," Cherry shrugs.

"But Amy will," the Doctor pipes up. "How do you think she'll feel if you wander off into the forest and get yourself killed?"

The Doctor stands with his back half turned to Cherry, watching with a guilty look on his face as she rounds on him furiously. She storms up to him, pushing him around to face her, and she bunches up his shirt in her hand. With the grip she has on his clothes, she yanks the top half of his body down so that their faces are inches away from each other. "I hate you."

"No, you don't," he replies, a sad smile forming on his lips. "You should, but you don't."

"If anything happens to her, Doctor," Cherry shakes her head, cringing as the thought of Amy being killed by an Angel flashes through her mind. "I swear, if anything happens, I'll... I'll..."

"I know," he says softly, and he lifts his arms up, coaxing her into a hug. He rests his chin on her head and runs his hand along her back to soothe her. She's still upset and worried for her cousin, but as she rests her ear against his chest, relaxing into the soft cotton shirt, she calms herself down considerably. His arms bring her comfort, and although she knows they must break apart to avoid being murdered by angels, she is ultimately a little disappointed when he finally lets her go. She quietly walks away from him and stands next to River, staring down at her shoes with pink cheeks. He watches her carefully, making sure she definitely isn't going to try and run back to Amy, and then he asks to borrow River's mini-computer device.

He fiddles with it as they walk along the moss-covered ground, and it makes a strange beeping noise.

"What's that?" River asks the Doctor.
