The police officers stepped inside and removed their hats placing them under their arms. "We got a call from your husband. He reported domestic abuse." The female officer said taking out a note pad.

"Yes, Victoria is in the dining room. Have a seat in the living room and I'll bring her in." Paige motioned to the living room on the left and walked to the dining room where Victoria was staring out the window, her face wet with tears.

"Hey sweetie. The officers are here. Are you ready to give them your statement?" Victoria turned from the window and shook her head.

"I don't know if I can do this Paige. I'm so scared. I love Joe but I don't want him to hurt me anymore. Part of me has so many questions to why he's doing this. I know he loves me Paige. We've been married for six years. He's never done anything like this before." Victoria wiped the tears from her eyes as she cast her eyes downward.

Paige pulled Victoria into a hug and stroked her hair. "I know luv but he can't get away with this. He's got to find out the hard way what he's doing to you. Maybe by doing this, he'll finally get the help he needs to get better. I'm so scared of what will happen to you Victoria if you stay with him. You don't deserve to have him beating you. You've done nothing wrong."

Victoria buried her head into Paige's shoulder and wept openly. She knew Paige was right but why did it hurt so much?

Paige held her for a moment then Victoria pulled up and wiped at her eyes. "I guess I'm ready now. I want Joe to get help Paige. I love him and I know he doesn't mean to hurt me." Paige smiled softly and draped her arm around her shoulder walking her into the living room.

"Things will be okay, you'll see." The officers stood up when Victoria entered the room.

"This is Mrs. Elliott." Paige announced. Victoria looked down at the floor feeling embarrassed about looking like she did.

The female officer smiled softly. "It's okay Mrs. Elliott. We're not here to judge you. We're here to help you. I'm officer Daniel's but you can call me Kelly." She smiled and motioned for Victoria to sit and then sat opposite her.

"I'm officer Nelson, please call me David." Victoria smiled weakly.

"Victoria, let's start with when he first hit you. Did you two have an argument and he struck you, or did he strike you just out of the blue?" Officer Daniels asked as she poised her pen over the note pad.

Victoria sighed, looking down at her hands for a moment. Then she looked up with tears glistening in her eyes.

Sav punched in Phil's number on his cell and pulled it to his ear as he drove toward Joe's.

"Hello." Phil yawned looking at the clock and realized he slept longer than he intended.

"Phil, meet me at Joe's. It's Victoria. Joe's beaten her again." Sav turned down Dublin street and was now only a couple of blocks from Joe's.

"Say no more. I'm on my way. Want me to call Rick and Viv?" Phil asked pulling his keys from his pocket and walking out the front door.

"Yes, you may need them to help pull me off Joe when I beat the crap out of him for what he's done to Victoria." Sav felt his jaw tighten as he reached Joe's house but turned down the side street just on the other side so Joe wouldn't see him when he came home.

"Alright mate, I'll be there in about ten minutes." Phil hung up and dialed Rick's number first.

"Rick, meet me at Joe's. He's really gone off the deep end Rick. He's beaten Victoria again." Phil said feeling his own anger surface.
