The sun was shining brightly, nearing noon. As the director, Maria Grace had the luxury of time on her side. Her driver and bodyguard, Joyce, walked alongside her, carrying her shoulder bag. They were leaving the state-of-the-art building where Maria Grace resided—a place conveniently close to their headquarters.

Mostly, this was her daily routine, with the exception of occasional route changes. As the director of the Shadowstrike team, Maria Grace held the highest position and was considered the most valuable person within the organization. This necessitated the need for constant vigilance and safety precautions, including varying their routes to avoid potential threats.

Maria Grace sat inside her state-of-the-art service vehicle, her bodyguards positioned behind her. As they made their way towards the headquarters, the atmosphere was tense, with Maria Grace going over the latest intel in her mind.

Suddenly, without warning, a deafening crash shattered the tranquility. The vehicle shook violently as a massive truck rammed into the convoy, causing chaos and confusion. The bodyguards' vehicles were thrown off course, leaving Maria Grace vulnerable and separated from her team.

Reacting swiftly, Maria Grace realized the gravity of the situation. She locked eyes with her loyal bodyguard driver, Joyce, who had managed to keep their vehicle steady amidst the chaos. There was a flicker of uncertainty in Joyce's eyes, and Maria Grace sensed something was amiss.

Before Maria Grace could react, she noticed a sudden change in Joyce's expression. Her usually calm demeanor hardened, and without warning, Joyce sharply turned the steering wheel, veering away from the main road. Maria Grace's heart skipped a beat as she sensed something was terribly wrong.

"I am so sorry, Ma'am," Joyce declared, her voice trembling with regret as tears welled up in her eyes. "I had no other choice."

Maria Grace's mind raced, trying to comprehend the situation unfolding before her. She looked into Joyce's tear-filled eyes, searching for answers. The weight of betrayal settled heavily upon her, threatening to crush her resolve.

Taking a deep breath to steady herself, Maria Grace mustered the strength to speak. "Joyce, how could you?" she whispered, her voice filled with a mix of disappointment and disbelief. "We trusted you."

Joyce's voice quivered as she tried to explain herself. "Ma'am, please understand," she pleaded. "The Lunar Pack, they have my family. They threatened to harm them if I didn't cooperate. I had no choice but to do what they asked."

Maria Grace's heart ached for Joyce, realizing the impossible situation she had been forced into. She knew that Joyce had always been a loyal and dedicated member of the team. The realization that her family's safety had been used against her was a painful reminder of the ruthless nature of their enemies.

With a heavy sigh, Maria Grace composed herself and locked eyes with Joyce once again. "We will find a way to save your loved ones," she said, her voice filled with determination. "But right now, we need to focus on finding a way out of this situation. We cannot let the Lunar Pack succeed."

As the vehicle sped away, Maria Grace's mind raced. She was acutely aware of the danger she was in and the potential disadvantage it would put the entire team in if she were captured. The realization hit her with the force of a punch to the gut, but she also empathized with the difficult position Joyce had been forced into.

Their speeding car raced through narrow alleys, with two SUVs closely tailing them. This scene was not unfamiliar to the residents of Elysium City, as such incidents were considered minor occurrences. The citizens assumed it was just a routine law enforcement pursuit of some criminals.

As the speeding cars flew past a quaint ice cream store, a hilarious mishap unfolded. A scoop of ice cream accidentally collided with the face of a young man, prompting uncontrollable laughter from the two young women besides him. The scene quickly turned comical as the young man's face flushed red with a mix of embarrassment and anger. Nerves seemed to visibly twitch on his forehead, further fueling the young women's amusement. These individuals were none other than Eijin, Mara, and Elise.

Eijin's eyes suddenly sharpened as he glanced at the speeding vehicles. He knew he needed to follow them, not to confront them over the ice cream incident, but as a protector of the city, he felt compelled to assist the authorities.

"I think I need to clean myself," Eijin declared, glancing at Mara, who was still laughing alongside Elise. Mara understood the message behind Eijin's words, but her laughter was uncontrollable. The image of a handsome guy with ice cream on his face continued to amuse her.

"Sure," Elise replied.

Meanwhile, Mara telepathically teased, "Go get them, babe." She couldn't help but continue laughing. "I don't know if you're lucky to date two cute girls, but you're definitely unlucky with the ice cream mishap," she playfully added.

Without drawing attention, Eijin slipped into a narrow alley. As he ventured deeper, his casual clothes seamlessly transformed into his battle suit. With a swift leap, he teleported onto the rooftop of a nearby building. From there, he leaped again, traversing across rooftops as he tracked the path of the speeding cars.

It didn't take Eijin long to locate his target. The sleek cars abruptly turned into a narrow alley, their speed slowing down as they approached the back of an old building. Eijin's instincts told him that this was no ordinary police pursuit.

Keeping his thoughts to himself, Eijin utilized his symbiote's abilities to send a discreet SMS message to Mara. The message read, "There is more to this pursuit." He chose to communicate via SMS to ensure that Elise wouldn't notice their conversation.

Mara, sensing the urgency, immediately established a telepathic link. "What is it, babe?" she asked, her voice filled with concern.

"It's going to take me a while, so I won't be able to join you immediately," Eijin explained. "I need to investigate further."

"Just be careful," Mara responded, her voice now serious and filled with a mix of worry and determination.

Eijin, using his teleportation ability, silently positioned himself closer to the old building, strategically concealing his presence. From his vantage point, he observed, Eijin's suspicions were confirmed as five men stepped out, each from the SUVs. They quickly formed a protective circle around the sleek vehicle, their expressions stern and determined. It was evident that they were prepared for any potential threats or intrusions.

Two women stepped out. The first was a stunning blonde with an air of authority, stepping out from the back. She spoke with a firm tone, asking, "What do you want from me?"

The second woman, who had been in the driver's seat, stepped out with a worried expression on her pretty face. Tears welled up in her eyes as she pleaded, "I've kept my word, where is my family?"
