There was a rumor going around, especially through Adrien's class.

Gabriel Agreste was engaged.

His classmates all knew the right person to ask, of course. But Adrien could only deny and evade; it wasn't his place to say, not yet.

But the opportune moment to find out the truth was the upcoming school event, where the parents were coming to see the research projects their children had been working on.

And today was the day. Adrien sat with his friends in the courtyard as the parents began to trickle in.

His smile grew when he saw two very familiar faces. "Do you want to say hello?" he asked his friends.

"Yes!" Alya exclaimed. "I've been dying to find out if- uh, yes, that would be nice."

Adrien held back his laugh and shared a look with Marinette. His girlfriend was currently the only person there who knew the truth.

He waved his friends closer to the people they were oh so curious about. "Hi, Dad, Nathalie," he greeted.

Gabriel ruffled his son's hair with a smile. "I'm looking forward to seeing the project I've heard so much about."

"Before that, I think my friends have a question for you."

"Really?"

Unable to contain herself any longer, Alya blurted, "Mr. Agreste, is it true that you're engaged?"

With an amused expression, he replied, "Yes, Miss Césaire."

"Scoop! Who's the lucky lady, sir?"

He looked at Alya like it was obvious. Turning his attention to Nathalie, Gabriel lifted her hand to show the ring.

Alya's jaw dropped.

"No. Way," Nino murmured.

Adrien and Marinette burst out laughing at their friends.

"You knew?" Alya asked Marinette in an accusatory tone. "And you didn't tell me?"

"I thought you would figure it out!" she giggled. "It was pretty obvious, Alya."

"To you, maybe," Alya grumbled. "Anyway, Mr. Agreste, how are you planning on breaking the news?"

"We're not sure yet."

Alya smiled craftily. "What better place than here?"

"Are you sure?" Marinette asked.

"We would rather focus on Adrien without any more attention," Nathalie told her.

"You don't have to be flashy," Alya said with a wave of her hand. "Just act like any of the other parents here. It won't be long until someone notices that ring, anyway."

"What do you say?" Adrien asked.

"I don't see why not," Gabriel replied, taking Nathalie's hand again. "We're a family now."
