Sophie's POV:

I should have been focusing on participating in Physical Education class with my fellow elves, but my mind was preoccupied with thoughts of Keefe. His ice-blue eyes and disheveled blonde hair had a way of consuming my thoughts, even when I tried to push them aside. As I attempted to tackle the obstacle course, my foot slipped, and I tumbled to the ground, feeling a sharp pain shoot through my ankle.

I winced as I tried to stand up, but the pain was too much to bear. Concerned classmates surrounded me, helping me to the healing center where Elwin awaited to mend my sprained ankle. As I limped through the empty halls of Foxfire on my way to Elwin's office, my thoughts drifted back to Keefe.

Coincidentally, I found myself near Keefe's favorite ditching spot. There he was, lounging in his usual spot, looking as charming and mischievous as ever. "You must be lost, huh Foster?" he said with a smirk, his eyes sparkling mischievously. My heart swelled at the words, the words he had said when we first met in this hallway. I loved that. It's almost like we are recreating it in a way. Except this time, I didn't blow up any capes.

Despite the pain in my ankle, my heart went to hummingbird mode at the sight of him. "What did you do this time? Did you blow up Galvin's cape again?" he asked with a playful smile.

"Uh no not this time. I unfortunately sprained my ankle in PE." I admitted, feeling a mixture of embarrassment and gratitude for his attention.

Keefe's eyes softened as he noticed my limp. "You sprained your ankle in PE?" His concern was unexpected but somehow comforting.

"Want me to help you walk down to the Healing Center?" His offer caught me off guard, his tone surprisingly gentle.

I nodded in response, unable to refuse his help. As he moved closer, I leaned on him for support, allowing him to take some of the weight off my injured ankle. The closeness between us was unexpected, the contact sending a spark of warmth through me.

Together, we made our way down the halls, my heart in hummingbird mode the entire time, and his presence a reassuring presence beside me. Despite the pain in my ankle, I found myself oddly grateful for this unexpected connection with Keefe. As we reached the Healing Center, Elwin greeted us with a knowing smile, his eyes twinkling with amusement.

"Seems like you have a knack for finding trouble, Foster," Keefe remarked, a playful glint in his eyes as he nudged me gently.

I couldn't help but laugh at his words, the sound echoing through the empty halls of Foxfire. As we walked together, the banter between us flowed effortlessly, Keefe effortlessly lightening the mood with his quick wit and humor. Despite the pain in my ankle, I found myself enjoying his company, the easy camaraderie between us making me forget the worries of the day.

Keefe helped me settle on one of the cots, his presence a comforting presence by my side. It was in those quiet moments, as he sat there with me, that I realized there was more to him than just his charming facade. Underneath the easy smiles and playful banter, there was a depth to Keefe that intrigued me.

Elwin entered the room. "Oh Sophie, what did you do this time?" Elwin asks with a hint of amusement in his voice. "Sprained my ankle." I admitted again feeling embarrassed.

"Well lets get it looked at." Elwin says to me knowing what to do. While looking at my ankle he turns to Keefe and smirks. "Let me guess want another note excusing yourself like last time?" Elwin says playfully. Keefe laughed at Elwins remark.

"This does seem like the time when we first met doesn't it Foster?" Keefe says smiling at me. "Yes, yes it does." I replied, as I thought back to the time, I first met Keefe.
