[Timeskip - two weeks later]

Missions weren't uncommon. For you, you preferred going solo on missions. Without people getting in your way or messing up your plans it was easier that way. The downside being that you would have no one to fall back on. If something went horribly wrong then you were on your own.

By now you had been gone for about a day. You had told most people about your mission. If you didn't tell someone then they would surely find out through someone she did tell.

"She left on a mission?!?" Ace practically yelled. Thatch had told him that you had already left.

He vaguely knew that you'd go on a mission but what he didn't know was that you would be leaving so soon. "Thought out of everyone she would've told you. She told me at least."

"No she didn't."

"Well she did leave pretty quickly. Maybe she couldn't find you." Thatch shrugged before leaving his side.

'Why would she leave without telling me? Would she really just leave like that?' Ace thought to himself. It actually got him worried that she didn't tell him. Maybe if she did he wouldn't be so worried or maybe he would've insisted on going with you.

Your mission was actually going well. Any injuries would have been minor like scrapes or a little bruising but nothing major that needed medical treatment.

You were probably going to be gone for another few days. Not a long a mission but it was long enough for Ace to get worried about wether she would be okay or not.

After about another day so you've been gone for about 2 days. Though you did end up contacting them today with your den den mushi.

Ace was just relieved that you were okay. From what he heard you would be back in a day or two so that also helped ease with his worries that you would be gone for a lot longer and be injured.

'Finally.' He thought to himself when he saw you again. You were okay and nothing major happened to you at all.

"Next time tell me." Ace said as he walked over to you before playfully hitting your head, not enough for it to hurt.

"What were you worried?" You teased back. Of course he was worried but he would never admit that to you at all.

"Of course not. Just wanted to know where you were." He was acting a little defensive about this but what would you expect from him.

"Sure, fire boy." You say even though you know he doesn't like the nickname that is very appropriate in your eyes.

"You have to stop calling me that." He rolled his eyes. He might not like it but she wasn't going to stop.

"I don't think I will."

"I think so."

"Really? I think I should continue with this nickname."

"Maybe I should give you a nickname."

"Oh yeah? Like what."

"Hmm, firefly."

"Why firefly?" You ask a little confused on why out of everything he would call you it would be firefly.

"Because it suits you." He adds on before ruffling your hair just to tease you. You can feel your cheeks getting warmer but luckily enough for you he doesn't seem to notice this right now.

Firefly...I like it.
