Part 7 / Night Terrors - part 2

Just like he said he would, he looked around. Probably for a good 15 minutes before he saw you again.

Still just walking aimlessly around the ship.

He walked up behind you tapping your shoulder before whispering. "Hey...firefly."

You seemed pretty jumpy and you did jump, she didn't expect him to be up at all and even if you did you didn't expect him to sneak up on you.

You turned around and almost hit him but he caught her hand while smiling sweetly at you. He didn't seem phased about it at all.

"A-Ace?" You say a little confused why he just practically came out of nowhere. "You scared the crap out of me!" You say in like a whisper shout before hitting the back of his head, not hard but enough for it to hurt a little.

"Ow...wait, why are you still up?" He asked realising that if you were just walking around then you would've been up for more than half an hour.

"..can't sleep. I could ask you the same question you know?"

"Simple, I was hungry."

"Your always hungry."

"Shut up."

He waits a few long minutes before breaking the silence between the two of them.

"..why can't you sleep? Is that why your so jumpy? Your not normally like this." He said. And it was definitely true, it was normally very hard for anyone to scare you like that.

"It's not important." A lie but you'd rather not have to explain the nightmare to him.

"You sure? You still seem..." He trailed off and didn't say what he wanted to.

"Yeah i'm sure, Ace." It was weird saying his name, normally you'd say a nickname and not really say it much, that was a little giveaway that you weren't telling the truth to him.

"Come on." He grabs your hand gently before tugging you with him.

"What? Where are we going?" You ask confused but he didn't give you an answer. Instead he continues to tug you along with him before both of you get to his cabin.

He opens the door and lightly pushes you inside before going in and closing the door himself.

"Why are we in your room?" You ask, surely if he wanted you to sleep then he would make you go back to your own room, right?

"Your acting a little weird."

Before you could even answer what he just said he started to talk again.

"Your all jumpy and your even calling me my name. It's weird. Why can't you sleep?"

At first you didn't answer. Instead you just look down. Again if you tell him that you've had a nightmare he would probably want you to tell him about it and well..you didn't want to.

"Don't lie either." His thumb caressed the back of your hand when he spoke. Thats when you realise that he still has your hand in his.

"Nightmare." You whispered barely loud enough for Ace to actually hear what you said to him.

He lifted his hand and caressed the top of your head. More than anything he wanted to make sure that you were okay.

"And your okay now?" You nod your head. Nightmares are a recurring thing for you but this was the first time that anyone had caught you, from your knowledge.

He pulled you into a hug and you leaned your head against his chest.

You wrapped your own arms around him, appreciating the hug off of him. It was actually comforting more than anything else and thats what he wanted it to be.

Comforting.

"You wanna tell me about it? You don't have to of course but it could help."

You shook your head but kept your arms around him. More than anything you wanted to just stay in his comforting embrace.

"Do you want to stay in my room for the night or go back to yours? I don't mind if you wanna stay with me." You look up at him and he's got the softest expression that you've ever seen him have before...It was pretty cute.

"If you really don't mind..can I stay?"

"Mhm. I offered didn't I firefly?"

"Yeah, you did, fire boy."

You could feel yourself growing more tired the more you stayed in his embrace. It was really nice and it even started to make you sleepy.

"I'll sleep on the floor okay? You can sleep on my bed."

You don't argue with him about it. Of course he would just insist until you would agree so maybe it was better if you didn't say anything.

After a moment you pulled away from the hug while smiling at him, a soft smile.

She looks like an angel when she smiles like that..

He ruffles your hair again to make you laugh and it definitely worked.

Ace lead you over to your bed and sat you down. You got comfy under the covers anr looked over at him.

He was on the floor with a pillow and a blanket. You felt bad but even if you said he could share the bed with you he still would just want you to sleep in it.

It had been about an hour and Ace was knocked out. You still couldn't sleep but you couldn't help but look at how peaceful he looked while he sleeping.

He is very pretty.

You notice that his hand is resting on the bed. It seemed that even when he was asleep he wanted to be close with you.

You gently took his hand in yours. It felt warm even though his room felt cold.

Without him everything felt cold.

You almost wanted him to share the bed with you, it would be more comfy for the both of you but he wouldn't do that for you. Would he?

"Fire boy.." you whispered and he grumbled as a response, he was barely awake when he wanted him to be.

"Can you..." Ace opened his sleepy eyes to look up at you. He probably thought you wanted him to go get you something. "...come up here..with me?"

Once you realise what you've just asked of him you instantly look away, he probably wouldn't want you right? It would just be awkward right?

"You sure firefly?" He mumbled tiredly and sat up. You wanted to pretend you didn't say anything but when he responded you knew that you should go with it.

"Yeah...I mean it surely isn't comfortable on the floor, you'd be sore in the morning if you slept like that." You reply. That was one reason why you wanted him to be up here but another was just selfish.

"Mm. Okay." He got up and you moved over so then he could lie down. His back was facing you and yiu could feel his warmth already.

You didn't move any closer but you had to admit that even just being like this was nice. Maybe you could actually sleep with him next to you.

And you did. You actually fell asleep now. A peaceful dream with no nightmares. Finally, a goodnights sleep. Who knew sleeping next to Ace would give you that?

What you didn't know was that he rolled over to look at your peaceful face as you slept. He had his arm draped over you by the time he fell asleep and he had one thought running through his head while he fell asleep.

She really is an angel.
