[Timeskip - 2 days]

Tonight you had night watch. Standing in the crows nest leaning against the railing and looking into the nothingness of the ocean.

Except from the waves crashing against the ship and the wind running through your hair, there wasn't a lot of noises at all.

Everyone else was peacefully asleep while you were in the bitter cold air of the night. It wasn't the worst thing that could've happened but it certainly wasn't a fun experience.

Without a lot of noise it would have been nearly impossible for someone to not be heard or seen.

"..Hey, firefly" A husky voice came from behind you. How on earth he got up here without you noticing was certainly a mystery.

You jump a little at his voice, not expecting to hear anyones voice for a while longer and you could almost hear him try not to laugh at your obliviousness.

"You zoned out?" He asks while walking beside you. He knew you would be here and it looked like he wanted to give uou a visit.

"Yea...why are you here?" You ask. You might not have expected to have some company but it was appreciated nonetheless. "Just couldn't sleep."

"So the best place to go is the crows nest?"

"Right now..yeah."

Your here

Is what he was thinking but he didn't say it out loud. Having someone to be here with when you can't sleep is better than just laying in bed without being able to sleep.

"You should've worn something warmer." He says after a few moments of quiet. You knew it would be cold, it always is when you have watch in the middle of the night.

"Yeah probably but it's not too bad." You reply though the cold was starting to get to you.

"Your still cold aren't you?"

"I guess."

Ace was never cold. His devil fruit which meant he could literally turn his body into flames meant that he was always very warm.

.

.

He moved a little closer to you. Enough so that there was still some space between you two but also enough so then you could feel his body heat practically radiating off of him...It was comfortable.

If he was really paying attention then he might be able to catch onto your faint blush but it seemed like he was doing the same as you.

Looking into the void of the ocean and sky. Nothing more than a dark body of water and a black sky that was illuminated by bright white stars that made it just a little more interesting to actually look at.

The silence between them was actually nice. It wasn't awkward and the fact that he was now this close to her, she could feel his warmth.

You kept the silence between them. It took a while before one of them finally decided to speak up.

"Firefly?"

You look over at him, paying attention to him rather than looking at the ocean.

"Yeah?"

"Your still cold." He pointed out. You were practically shivering at this point.

"I'll be fine." You reply while looking back over at the ocean in front of them.

He offers you his hand. Sure you might be embarrassed but but you take his hand either way. He doesn't seem that bothered but he has his goofy smile on his face.

He got a little closer to you. Now his warmth, from his hand as well just from his body practically seeped into you. You liked being close with him. Even if you weren't looking at him because of your obvious blushing but it was nice.

Maybe I like this more than I should Fireboy.
