CHAPTER 24

seeing the entire room kneeling to me, really set things into perspective, lysseilia wasn't surprised, but it sold what i had been thinking in my head, it made me come to finally accept things about myself

"katsuragi, gather your pilots, bring them to my ready room" i said, as i dismounted lysseilia

"uh, right" misato said, as she did as she was told, i gestured for lysseilia to follow, which she did changing back to her human form and following me to my ready room, where she took her place standing to my right

"i have spent since your arrival in deep thought, today i realized several things both about myself and the people around me, as such, your on your own, the protection i have given you, is as far as i am going" i said, their eyes widened even lysseilia was shocked, i held up my hand for silence

"i have done a huge amount of research, before i claimed lysseilia do you know the one thing i learned, when doing that research" i asked, even lysseilia was confused by this

"what" misato asked

"i learned, that if i wanted to be a proper master and rider, i needed to want to do and be those things, i want to be lysseilia's rider, she deserves me at my best, i don't particularly want to deal with any of you, with maybe the exception being rei, i would not mind claiming her as my own, the rest of you, well miss makinami, i don't know you, as such i'd be claiming you solely for your power, which i don't want OR need, and asuka, i would have to force myself to at all be a good master for you, the work i'd have to put in to deal with you, i'd rather hang myself, simply put i don't want to deal with you, i don't want to deal with having to fix your attitude something misato should have done when she was our guardian, i don't want to force you to follow my commands, that is just not the kind of person i am, now lysseilia do you know the work i have to put in for her, practically zero, i'd have to put in a bit of work for rei, but for entirely different reasons, and to be honest, i'd probably enjoy helping her, but then i wouldn't want to claim her, i would want her to go out and find her own life, should she return to me after the fact, great, but i am on a tangent, safe to say, i claimed lysseilia because she is everything i want and need, in a dragon, you are not" i said, lysseilia was touched at essentially being called perfection

"so what happens now then" asuka asked

"i will continue to give you the protection i have, regarding my rank, if the government assigns you to in a transitory fashion, then i will ride you as necessary, i will however not waist what i have on you, any other dragons i claim, will be my choice based on how much i like being around them, and while putting you specifically asuka in your place sounds amazing, dealing with you in the long run does not, that is my final word on the matter, misato katsuragi, you are a different can of worms, i will allow you to stand as my first officer, only if you can promise to do your duty as XO, that means do not question me in front of the crew, you should be backing up my decisions, not overriding them is that understood" i demanded

"it is, sir, this is your ship, and i have seen the loyalty they seem to have to you" misato said

"good, get out" i said, all of them started to leave

"not you lysseilia" i said, she stopped, and turned towards her master, as the door closed, he looked at her

"what happened in that dojo" i asked

"it would seem they were paying you the ultimate respect" lysseilia said, a small smile gracing her face

"this has your fingers all over it" i said

"i swear i didn't even make a suggestion of it, the idea did not come from me, i will admit i sent misato to you, but what they did in the training room, was completely and entirely their choice, may i ask you something in private" she asked

"you may ask me anything at any time, i will always answer honestly, you have earned that from me" i said

"did you mean what you said earlier" she asked

"you are mine, in fact, i intend for you to give me your oath of fealty, in front of your mother" i said, her eyes widened in shock, she smiled though, she gave a salute before kneeling

"i am yours, master, forevermore" she said, i rose from my seat, as i grabbed her and pulled her to her feet, and i captured her lips with my own, she moaned into the kiss as her arms instinctively snaked around his neck, and his around her waist

they did not leave that room for several hours, as he made it plainly clear who she now belonged to, and she loved every second of it
