A few months later
"I didn't think it would take this long."
"Neither did I."
A smile touched my lips. "I suppose we did find these." I looked down at the two pink cupcakes in front of Sasha and I.
"Pure luck." She agreed, leaning into me, intertwining her arm with mine. "Thank you for sharing this with me."
By absolute chance, we found a bakery in the airport.
"Happy Birthday, Lyra." Sasha bumped her cupcake against mine.
Just as I was about to unwrap my cupcake, a loud voice over the intercom came on. "Boarding for flight 213 to Italy starts in fifteen minutes."
-Thank you to every person who took the time to read my book, vote for it, or even comment. Thank you so much for even giving my book the time of day. It's been in the works for three years, with rewrites and changes. I do plan to thoroughly edit the book very soon.
