She sighed as she saw his silhouette standing in the doorway. She just wanted everyone to forget this ever happened and brush it under the rug. But she also didn't want him to leave. Was that selfish?

He walked towards her sitting at the foot of her bed. His ice-blue eyes stared into her own, and she couldn't help but be dragged into them.  And she was grateful he was there.

He didn't speak, he didn't make any advances to get closer to her. He just sat there. It was as I'd he knew just what she needed. A lot of people say laughter is the best medicine, but they've never had a Keefe.
Just knowing he was there made her feel better.

"Thank you," she said, wrapping her arms around her legs. Making herself feel smaller in the huge room.

He smiled at her, and her heart melted. The butterflies in her stomach were flapping wildly.
" do you wanna talk about it?" He asked.

And when she shook her head, he opened up his arms. " Then do you need a shoulder to cry on?"

And it might have been selfish, but she couldn't help but want him to hug her. She graciously accepted the hug, and he wrapped his arms around her, making her feel safe. She didn't want to cry anymore, she just wanted to stay here, to stay like this for eternity. But she could stop that one tear. That one stubborn teat that always had to play the wildcard.

" Keefe I'm sorry you have to deal with me," Sophie said wiping away the stray tear.

" Fost- Sophie, stop apologizing. you can cry when you feel like it." Keefe said smiling at her.
" I know what it's like to feel weak, Foster. But you are the complete opposite of weak. So cry when you feel like it."

" How did you..."

" I'm a very skilled Empath Foster," Keefe smirked.

" You're such a dork," Sophie said laughing

                   . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
                       Keefes POV

He couldn't help but smile at her laughing face. When she was happy he was happy.

"What?" She asked noticing he was staring at her.

" Nothing," Keefe shrugged. What he wanted to say though, was that he was just admiring the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen. But that was crossing a line, and he didn't want to get friend-zoned more than he already was.

" Foster, you know technically I'm gonna have to send an angry Linh after you, now that I know you were lying," he smirked. He loved messing with her. It always ended with her laughing or smiling.

" You wouldn't dare." She was very bad a hiding her smile

"Oh. Yes. I. Would." He said getting closer to her face with every word.
His eyes flickered to her lips. Her honey-brown eyes found his. It was like the world had stopped around around them. It was then that he realized just how close they were. Just how tightly his arm was wrapped around her. And that the emotion he hoped for. That feeling he longed to detect for years now. The feeling that first gave him hope was no longer a spark.

She leaned in and who was he to say no? His eyes found her lips again, they were inches apart now.

Then the door opened.

They scrambled away from each other on either side of the bed.

Keefe closed his eyes, pleading it wasn't who he thought it was.

Please don't be Grady. Please don't be Grady.

" Sorry, did I interrupt something," Edaline, his saving grace, said from the doorway.
