Jace, Jamie, and Poppy were lying with Maxine who was healing up in time for the full moon." When will she wake?" Poppy whimpers." Soon micul meu lup, I promise," Jace says." Why do you speak Romanian?" Jamie wonders."Because it is a beautiful language and I love speaking it," Jace smiles.
Derek entered the room," She's not waking up yet Why?" Jace wonders." She's healing, she'll wake," Derek reassures him. Maxine begins to stir and Jamie holds her hand as Poppy does." Mel!" Poppy yells and Mel comes running with Issac." Max," Jace says softly touching her head as she wakes up.
"What the hell did you do?!" Maxine growls showing her orange cat eyes. Jace gulps," I-I saved you, I couldn't lose you. I had already lost our son and daughter," Jace stutters knowing he fucked up." Poppy, Jamie, Mels out!" Maxine says calmly. Mels picks Poppy up and Issac leads Jamie out.
"I said no! What part of No! Didn't you get it?!" Maxine snarls as she shifts clawing at Jace's chest as she yells." I wanted to die!! Be with our kids!!! I died when they did!!" Maxine snarls." I couldn't let you go!!" Jace growls." I lost my children too! Not just you!!" Jace growls.
"NO!" Maxine snaps pointing her finger at him."You do not get to say that! You didn't feel them die in your stomach then give birth to them knowing they are dead!" Maxine screams."I wanted to be with my children, mate bond or nor you should have respected that!!" Maxine growls.
"My children are gone!! I will not lose you too!" Jace snarls." You already lost me when you decided to disrespect my choice," Maxine coldly says.
"No don't say that Maxine, Prinţesă," Jace pleads as he gets near to Maxine and reaches out to touch her. Maxine backs away from Jace.
"I don't want you near me right now," Maxine says leaving the room. Maxine begins to leave when Poppy whimpers and Maxine turns to see Poppy crying, "I'm sorry Poppy," Maxine says softly.
"I'm hurt, my daughter and son are in the stars, I just wanted to be with them," Maxine says sadly. Poppy nuzzles her," I want you to stay," Poppy whimpers. Jamie walks forward and hugs Maxine," We don't want you to go," Jamie says softly.
Isaac and Mels walk towards her," We don't want you to go either," Isaac says softly crying." I can't go now, but I need space and I need to find my children's grave," Maxine says sadly." We buried them with your parents Max," Derek says softly.
"Thanks, I'm going don't follow me! I mean it!" Maxine snarls. Maxine leaves and Poppy and Jamie follow her." Please stay here," Maxine softly tells them." I don't want to stay without you," Poppy whimpers sadly.
"Yeah, we like you," Jamie shyly speaks up. Maxine picks Poppy and holds her hand out for Jamie." Come on then," Maxine smiles as Jamie takes her hand.
Maxine leaves with Poppy and Jamie to go to the graveyard." Wait!" Maxine hears someone yelling and turns to see Mels running towards her." I'm coming too," Mels smiles. Maxine nods and they head to the graveyard together.
Isaac leaves the loft," Where are you going?!" Derek yells." To be with my mate and my best friend who is grieving," Isaac says firmly. He leaves to find them and soon catches up. Maxine stares at the gravestones and kneels by them.
"Mommy is sorry Murphy, Natasha, Daddy stopped me from coming home to you," Maxine says sadly. "But Nana and Grandad are up there, go be with them and I'll meet you there, go dance in the sky, my angels," Maxine says crying.
"We'll look after you mommy," Poppy says softly. Maxine sniffles and looks at Poppy," I-I mean Maxine," Poppy corrects herself." She's a pup, she has an instinct to be with a strong parental figure and she imprinted on you in the vault just like Jamie did," Mel explains gently.
Maxine nods and opens her arms to Poppy and Jamie who both nuzzle into her chest." I will try and be that parental figure for you both but give me time to grieve," Maxine says softly kissing their heads." Where will you go Max?" Isaac wonders.
"Back to my house my home, right now I need space from Jace, he disrespected my choice and he thinks he knows what's good for me and what I need," Maxine says.
"You're welcome to come along or go back I don't mind," Maxine says heading back to her childhood home with Poppy and Jamie by her side."Well, I'm coming!" Mels says with a soft smile." So am I!" Isaac says running after them.
Maxine gets to her home, and she immediately inspects the place." This is my home, I'm not leaving my home for nothing," Maxine says softly." Go to bed guys, I'll be sorting this place out just go to sleep," Maxine says softly.
Mels and Isaac head to bed as do Jamie and Poppy." Might as well live back here as I can't be around Jace right now," Maxine softly says.
Poppy comes back downstairs to find Maxine curled up on the couch and climbs into her arms as Jamie comes down to lie with them. Maxine wakes up and pulls the soft blanket over herself and the children.
"I need to speak with Deaton tomorrow to see what has happened to me as I have no clue what I am," Maxine says unsure. Issac came down the stairs," I need to know where Boyd and Erica are," Isaac says softly." A vault, Beacon Hills First National Bank vault," Maxine says softly." Thanks, I'm really sorry about your babies Maxine," Isaac says sadly.
"It's no one's fault but the alpha pack's, I just need time to grieve them as I'm very depressed and feel like I've failed," Maxine says sadly." You're not a failure, you didn't know they'd take you. Your babies death are on them not you. They shouldn't have taken you," Isaac says softly." I know, it's just mom guilt I guess," Maxine says brokenly.
Isaac gently kisses Maxine's head." You know if you want me to, I'd kill them all for you as you are my sister now," Isaac says softly smiling at her." You're not a murderer, but I know you would," Maxine softly smiles.
"Let's wait till it is the right time to attack them," Maxine coldly says." I want Kali's head in my hands," Maxine coldly smirks.
"It's a plan, get the rest of the pack out, and then go for the alpha pack and kill them," Isaac says nodding as Mels joins their side." We need to take down the alphas," Mels nods." They're killers," Mels says.
"Agreed and I have first dibs on them all, I couldn't save my babies but I can save us from them," Maxine says softly kissing Poppy's sleeping form and stroking Jamie's hair.
Jace was sitting on a tree branch and listening in on everything that was happening in the house. He is grieving for the loss of his children as well as Maxine but he can't help with not feeling a thing about the losses as he barely was able to concentrate on the pregnancy due to the threats that arrived in Beacon Hills.
Jace isn't sure how to fix things with Maxine as he went against her wishes and turned her into a supernatural creature without her consent." Maybe I should back away for a while just until she is ready for us again," Jace sadly admits and heads back to the loft.
Maxine went to her room with Poppy and Jamie and lay with her pups which she had internally accepted. Mels and Isaac both joined them in Maxine's room and they had a pack pile night in comfort to Maxine.
