Cause of Death : Several stab wounds to the chest and back
Manner of Death : Homicide
Remarks : At the death scene, there was a large pool of blood in the bedroom, with blood splatter and stains on the walls and door.
EXCERPT FROM INITIAL DETECTIVE NOTES
Bloody footprints trailing out from the death scene, down the stairs, through the living room and outside. Initial findings estimate the print belongs to a female, size 39 (8), both left and right feet. Shoe size matches the victim's spouse. Outside the garage, victim's car gone.
