Chapter 13: Near Yet So Far

Three months passed after their marriage. Sidharth and Shehnaaz's relationship was changed than earlier. They still could not become husband and wife but became very good friends. Shehnaaz again started having feelings for Sidharth but tried hard not to express it in front of him.

On the other hand, Sidharth knew about Shehnaaz's feelings but he also knew that he would never be able to love Shehnaaz like he loved Sana. He accepted that he had lost Sana and now she would never return to him but also determined to love only Sana till his last breath.

In spite of all the complicated situations, Sidharth and Shehnaaz were staying happily with each other. But one day something happened which changed everything between them.

It was Sidharth's office party. He took Shehnaaz with him as the employees were asked to bring their wives or husbands.

As soon as they entered holding hands, some people became shocked seeing Shehnaaz. They heard about Sana's demise. As Shehnaaz looked same like Sana, some people became confused for a moment.

Suddenly one of his colleagues came to greet him.

"Arrey Sidharth Bhai! Good to see you. Aur aap kaisi hai Sana bha....."

He suddenly stopped remembering about Sana's demise.

"Shehnaaz!" Corrected Sidharth.

"My wife." He said further to which Shehnaaz smiled blissfully.

"Sorry sorry... Ekdam se aap ko dekh ke laga jaise... Sana bhabi wapas aa gayi. Kehna padega aap dono behne bilkool ek jaisi dikhti hai.... Anyway, kaisi hai aap?"

Shehnaaz smiled slightly and said, "Thik hoon."

After that they met others as well. Some of them mistook Shehnaaz as Sana but everytime Sidharth corrected them. Shehnaaz's heart skipped a beat when he introduced her as his wife to his boss and colleagues. She started thinking that Sidharth had accepted her as his wife and one day he may reciprocate her feelings as well.

Shehnaaz blushed thinking that.

After sometime Sidharth became busy in talking with his male colleagues while Shehnaaz was talking with their wives standing little far from him.

"Waise jo bhi kaho, Shehnaaz Bhabhi ko dekh Sana Bhabhi ki yaad aa gayi." Said one of his colleagues to which Sidharth smiled sadly.

"Par Sidharth ek sach baat baatau? Humein nahi laga tha ki tu Sana Bhabhi ke chale jaate hi ekdam taurant dusri shaadi kar lega." Commented his another colleague.

Sidharth's expression changed hearing that.

"What do you mean?" He asked sternly.

"I mean, tu itna pyaar karta tha uss se. Aur do mahine ke andar tune dusri shaadi bhi kar liyi, hum sab ko thoda ajeeb laga sun ke. I know akele rehna muskil hota hai par uss hi ki judwa behen se shaadi kar liyi tune? Yeh toh dhoka hua na Sana Bhabhi ke saath?"

"Kya bol raha hai Nikhil? Yeh unka personal matter hai. Humein kya paata unhone kis situation mein yeh shaadi kiyi? We should not pass any comment." Said another colleague trying to control the situation as Sidharth was already fuming in anger hearing Nikhil's words.

"Arrey I am just curious." Said Nikhil laughing. "Accha Sidharth ek baat baata. Sach sach baatana. Teri aur Shehnaaz Bhabhi ki pehle se hi setting thi na? Isliye Sana Bhabhi ke jaate hi tum dono ka raasta clear ho gaya."

That was it. Sidharth couldn't control his anger anymore. He fisted his palm and punched so hard on his face that blood oozed out from the corner of his lips. Others became shocked by Sidharth's action.
