Part 7: I'd Do It All Again

Echo's POV 

As I spotted the cable around the tree I followed it to the cliff. Looking over the cliff down towards the container I could not see her. Removing my blaster I took out my flashlight and pointed it down, trying to spot her. 

Me: "Luna?!" 

At that moment I heard speeders approaching. Quickly looking back I saw speeders driving right towards me. The moment the first trooper on the speeder saw me he began to shoot. Without the cover, I didn't have another chance but to grab hold of the cable and begin to climb down toward the container. 

Suddenly the cable broke and I fell face-first against the container. Thanks to the Force I had my helmet on. Quickly standing up I jumped inside the cotinaner and closed the doors behind me just in time as the troopers started to shoot down at me. A flashlight was pointed up at me and as I looked down I saw Luna at the very end of the container. 

Luna: "Echo?" 

Me: "Did you not hear the blaster fire?" 

Luna: "What fire?" 

Me: "There are troopers out there. We have to go." 

Hunter's POV 

Wrecker and I were just a few steps away from Marauder when blasts began to fly past us. Stopping Wrecker pointed his gun at them and shot two blasts towards them. As we came inside the ship I quickly approached the monitor. 

Wrecker: "This old bird never looked so good." 

Removing my helmet I took a seat behind the controls as the ship began to gather power to fly off. 

Me: "We're in position. Tech, send your coordinates." 

I said as I looked at the comm system. 

Tech: "Transmitting." 

Me: "Coordinates received. We're shedding your way." 

Taking command of the controls I pulled the ship up and as we were enough high in the sky we began to fly. 

Wrecker: "We got company." 

I looked down at the monitors to see three shuttles coming at us. 

Me: "Get these guys off our tail." 

I said as they were able to hit our ship a little. 

Wrecker: "I'm on it." 

Echo's POV 

The moment Luna came next to me we began to climb up towards the doors. I was grateful to come here before she was captured by them. 

Me: "You're almost there." 

I said as I looked at her. Suddenly the container shook and Luna lost her grip. Before I could grab her she fell into the mental box. The war chest fell out of her bag all over the box she was on. 

Me: "Luna!" 

Quickly picking herself up she began to gather the war chest and try to place it all inside her bag again. But in that moment the box underneath her moved and the war chest slid down of it together with her bag. 

Luna: "No!" 

Me: "Hurry. This whole ledge is gonna go." 

Luna: "I can get it back. I have to." 

She tried to stand up but the box underneath her moved again. 

Me: "Don't. Luna forgot about the war chest. It's not important." 

Luna: "Yes it is. I heard what you said to Hunter on the Marauder. You don't have a normal life because of me. And you are right Echo. You are so right." 

She said as she looked back at me with tears in her eyes. My eyes winded in shock. I didn't want to her hear. Since I can remember I always wanted to help people but I knew that this wasn't her fault.  She looked back down towards the bag and war chest. 

Me: "Luna listen to me. Please. You have to let it go. All of that isn't worth a life." 

Standing up she quickly turned around and began to climb. As she passed me, I began to climb after her making sure that she wouldn't fall once more. Coming to the closed doors I unlocked them then I offered her my hand so I could help her up.  With my help, we claimed threw the open doors. At that moment the container began to slide down. 

Me: "Jump!" 

Both of us jumped at the same time towards the wall and we both were able to grab hold of it. To our luck, we stepped on a little shelf. The container crashed on the ground underneath us. 

Tech: "Luna! Echo!" 

Looking up I saw Tech waving at us from above us. The old man was with him. 

Tech: "Hold on!" 

I looked at Luna to meet her eyes and at that moment I saw a shuttle approaching us. As it got closer it began to shoot at Tech and the old man. A line was suddenly thrown between Luna and me. 

Old man: "Grab the line!" 

Me: "Go." 

Luna quickly took hold of the line and began to climb. I followed after her. As we were climbing the shuttle that was attacking Old Man and Tech came crashing into the wall not that far away from us. 

Luna: "You okay?" 

Me: "Yeah. Keep on m-" 

At that moment the line began to move down. A gasp felt Luna's mouth. I began to look around trying to find something to grab before we could fall when suddenly we stopped moving. Looking up I saw that the old man was sitting on the speeder and he stopped it just before it went over the cliff. He began to pull us back and as Tech helped Luna to safety both of them took a hold of me and pulled me next to them on the hard ground. 

Standing up we heard more blasters but as I looked back I saw that it was Marauder who took another ship down. 

Tech: "That would be our ride." 

The Marauder came flying next to us and as the doors opened we saw Wrecker. 

Wrecker: "Come on." 

I was the first one to step onto the ship. 

Old man: "Hey girl." 

Looking back I saw him throwing her something, and Luna caught it with her hands. 

Old man: "Keep it. And remember what I said." 

Luna: "Thank you." 

With that, she turned around and stepped inside the ship. Aa Tech came inside after her we were on our way off this planet. After removing my helmet I turned to look towards Luna who was sitting on her usual chair. Knowing that I needed to talk to her I approached her. Hearing me approaching she looked at me. 

Luna: "I'm sorry we lost the war chest." 

Me: "We'll manage without it." 

I said as I approached her and took a seat on the chair next to her. 

Luna: "I wanted to make things better for us. I know that you gave up everything because of me." 

Me: "Good thing we did, or we might be fighting with the Empire right now. Or worse. We made the right choice, Luna. I'd do it all again." 

Finally, she looked to her left meeting my eyes. 

Luna: "You know...I always wondered what having a sibling feels like. I'm hoping I can call you my brother Echo." 

A smile appeared on my face as I nodded my head.
