Part 14: Just Tech?

Luna's POV 

Tech: "I believe your strategy to be flawed. It would be wise to divert power to the reflector shields from your primary weapon system." 

He said as he looked at him. TAY-O looked at him. 

TAY-O: "A mature mistake. And precisely why TAY-O  is your only chance at victory. open your eyes, human." 

A sight left Tech's mouth as he looked away from TAY-O who took a few steps back towards him. 

TAY-O: "If you want to win out there, offense is the best-"

At that moment a speeder came crashing into TAY-O.

Announcer: "We have a wipeout down in the pit!" 

I ran around the corner and saw that TAY-O was all around once again. A gasp left my mouth. 

Wrecker: "Woah!" 

The driver of the speeder stepped out and walked past Wrecker and me like it was nothing. 

Me: "No." 

I ran up to the speeder with Wrecker behind me. 

Wrecker: "Oh boy. Uh, I don't think he will be able to race." 

He said as he picked droids hear and then he looked at me. Tech came to us. 

Millegi: "Safa Toma's dangerous place." 

Turning to my left I saw him approaching us with Cid behind him. As he stopped Cid walked past him towards us. 

Cid: "He's fine. Snap out of it, tin bin!" 

She said to TAY-O in Wrecker's hands. He looked up at her a little. 

TAY-O: "I regret nothing." 

He said before his power died down. 

Millegi: "Tough luck. Looks like a forfeit. No racer means Cid lost. And so do you." 

His eyes stopped on me. 

Millegi: "The deal is a deal girl." 

He said with a smile. Wrecker immediately stepped next to me. 

Tech: "I will be the racer." 

I looked back at Tech in shock. 

Me: "What?" 

Wrecker: "Haha-What?" 

Cid: "He's not joking. You heard him. The bet's still on." 

I looked at Millegi. 

Millegi: "I never stop a fool from giving his life to make me happy." 

Before I realized what was happening Tech was inside TAY-O's speeder. 

Announcer: "All right, place your bets! Our racers are ready! Safa Toma's Riot Champion, Jet Veinm. Basco "The Mad Bomber" "Birx. Steel Claw" Kane. "Vicious" Vid Santari. Haxxon "The War Gnom" Trajanix. "Qnd uick-draw" Quaser. "The Trickster" Flash Raktor. "Hyper" Rod on his Seven Douce Blaster. And finally Tech." 

The crowd died in confusion. 

Announcer: "Tech? Anything else on this guy? No? Guess he's a late arrival. Is that his name? Tech? Just Tech? Okay and here we go." 

Tech turned his speeder on and the moment the light turned green all of them began to drive. All of them were so fast that immediately they disappeared inside the tunnel. 

Announcer: "And they are off!" 

I was standing by the pit stop with the monitor in my hands and I was walking up and down as I was so nervous. Not because of Millegi winning but because that was Tech's first race.
