The Test Score

Denki Kaminari sat forcing a smile as Class 1a's latest tests were distributed back to them with their score. He HATED days like this because he was always pressured into sharing his score or used as a joke to make people feel better about their own. His teacher Shota Aizawa, also known as pro hero Eraserhead gave him a disappointed sigh as he handed him his test. The paper was creased and slightly ripped from what was usually passed off as immature jokes seeing as he was the 'class clown'. In actuality Denki tends to accidentally crease and rip his work out of stress and anxiety, the more worried, scared or distressed he is, the worse the state of the paper ended up in. Unfortunately this time, because of a threat from his father he was so terrified to fail he ended up ripping the last page in half.

This ended in 2 days worth of detention and soon there would be another... 'talk'. 'Talks' were when Denki was forced to sit in a room with at least one of his teachers and discuss his incapability to do well. One time in middle school his teacher did one of these talks in the middle of a meeting. There were 17 teachers and 6 teaching assistants. It was scaring. All of the adults then treated him like he was incapable of anything from that day forward, which sounds nice, but it wasn't. They didn't 'baby' him. They just didn't allow him to do anything above the capabilities of a 6 year old. It was humiliating. This was most likely a key cause of his struggles academically now when he thinks back on it.

Back to the present, Denki sat with his eyes closed as Aizawa Sensei placed his test in his shaky hands, his teacher had started to notice the signs that there was more behind Denki Kaminari than just being the 'class clown'. Denki hesitantly opened his eyes and looked down on his score: D-...
